The University of Limassol (UoL) is a dynamic and rapidly developing institution committed to excellence in education, research, innovation, and community engagement. As part of its strategic growth, the University is establishing a new School of Dentistry and invites applications from distinguished academics for the position of Dean.

As the University advances this major initiative, it seeks an accomplished and visionary leader to oversee the School’s academic, research, and operational development, and to position it as a centre of excellence in dental education and public service.

The Dean will provide strategic leadership and overall stewardship of the School, ensuring that its academic programs, research output, and clinical training meet the highest international standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Academic Leadership: Lead the development and implementation of the School’s strategic plan, ensuring alignment with the University’s mission and long-term vision.

• Programs and Quality Assurance: Oversee the design, delivery, and continuous enhancement of academic programmes, ensuring compliance with national and international accreditation and quality standards.

• Research & Innovation: Foster a vibrant and impactful research culture, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, securing external funding, and increasing high-quality scholarly output.

• Operational Management: Direct the School’s administrative and operational functions, including the development of modern facilities, laboratories, and clinical environments.

Essential Qualifications

• Academic Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Dentistry and a doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in Dental Sciences or a closely related discipline. The candidate must hold the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.

• Research Profile: A distinguished record of research and publications, with demonstrated success in securing research funding.

• Educational Leadership Experience: Substantial leadership experience (e.g. Dean, Associate Dean, or Program Director) within a dental or medical education environment.

• Teaching & Mentorship: Proven excellence in teaching and mentoring at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

A Legacy of Excellence

Founded in 1990 as CIIM, UoL carries a proud legacy as a distinguished business school, shaping the futures of over 2,000 Cypriot and international graduates. For more than three decades, it has championed critical thinking, creativity, and values-driven education, offering renowned programs such as the EFMD-accredited MBA and specialized degrees in business intelligence, data analytics, and beyond.

In 2019, CIIM embarked on an ambitious journey to expand its scope and redefine its role as a comprehensive university. Despite challenges, including the global pandemic, the institution’s resilience and forward-thinking vision culminated in its transformation into the University of Limassol by 2023. Today, UoL is a trailblazer in higher education, equipping students for thriving careers and active citizenship in a globalized, technology-driven world.

Recognizing CIIM’s successful 30-year legacy and its gradual expansion into fields such as computer science, technology, economics, and finance, CIIM Innovations Ltd. formally applied for university status. Following a rigorous evaluation by the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education (CYQAA), CIIM was officially upgraded to the University of Limassol, with operations commencing on the 1st of September 2023.

True to its motto, “Ever Evolving,” UoL embodies a spirit of continual growth and reinvention. Its mission is to serve as a hub of academic excellence, innovation, and societal progress.
