On behalf of our client, a well-established and professional accountancy firm, we are seeking to recruit an experienced Accountant to join their team.
The firm provides accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, VAT, and compliance services to a diverse portfolio of clients and offers a collaborative and supportive working environment.

Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting requirements of assigned clients, including VAT compliance, payroll administration, social insurance contributions, and financial record keeping.
The role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, accuracy, organisation, and the ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines effectively.
The Accountant will work closely with the Manager, providing regular updates on completed work, pending matters, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform bookkeeping and record clients' financial transactions using accounting software.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records for assigned clients.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns within the required deadlines.
- Handle VAT-related matters, queries, and compliance requirements for clients.
- Apply relevant VAT legislation, regulations, and circulars in daily accounting work.
- Prepare and process client payroll.
- Calculate and manage social insurance and other statutory contribution payments.
- Ensure payroll and social contribution procedures comply with applicable regulations.
- Prepare supporting accounting documentation, reports, and reconciliations.
- Review invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial records.
- Monitor accounting and statutory deadlines and ensure timely completion of required submissions.
- Communicate with clients regarding accounting documentation and outstanding information when required.
- Maintain organised client files and accounting records.
- Identify discrepancies or accounting issues and raise them with the Manager.
- Provide regular updates and report the results of work performed to the Manager.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling client and financial information.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a similar role.
- University degree with a grade of 2:1 or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in bookkeeping.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting software and confidence using accounting systems.
- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and web-based applications.
- Excellent command of Greek and English, both written and spoken.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in the application of VAT legislation, regulations, and relevant circulars.
- Good knowledge and practical experience in payroll administration and social insurance contribution requirements.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple client accounts, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Professional, responsible, and reliable approach to work.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues and management.
- High level of confidentiality and professional integrity.

- Gross monthly salary of €1,300–€1,700, depending on experience and qualifications.

- Flexible working schedule:
- Monday, Tuesday & Thursday: 07:45–13:00 and 14:00–17:15
- Wednesday & Friday: 07:45–15:00
