The Client:

Our client Allwyn, a leading gaming company in Greece and Cyprus and one of the most renowned in its industry worldwide is expanding its operations in Cyprus and is looking to recruit an Accountant.

Position Mission: 

To ensure the accurate and timely execution of accounting operations and financial reporting for Cyprus entities, maintaining full compliance with IFRS, local regulations, and Group policies, while supporting financial analysis, system integrity, and audit processes through high-quality accounting records and reconciliations. To prepare all the documents requested by NBA, Ministry of Finance and other stakeholders

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Accounting Operations & Records

  • Ensures the accuracy and completeness of financial records and supporting documentation in line with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Performs accurate and timely recording of accounting transactions, including accruals and expense recognition based on agreements.
  • Maintains and updates accounting data in ERP systems, spreadsheets, and internal tools.

2. Invoicing, Payments & Cash Flow

  • Issues invoices and follows through on collections in accordance with business requirements and contractual terms.
  • Prepares and validates payments, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with internal approval processes.
  • Monitors and manages company cash flow, ensuring alignment with operational needs.
  • Renews fixed deposits within required timelines.

3. Reconciliations & Financial Control

  • Performs timely and accurate reconciliations of bank accounts, customer balances, and other key accounts.
  • Investigates and resolves discrepancies in transactions and balances.
  • Ensures proper monitoring of agent balances and applies credit policy in handling credit requests.

4. GGR, Expenses & Regulatory Calculations

  • Monitors and ensures accurate calculation of monthly GGR and related expenses.
  • Prepares regulatory calculations and reporting (e.g. GGR allocation per game, variable expenses, unclaimed winnings, high winnings) in line with authority requirements.

5. Reporting & Financial Statements Support

  • Supports the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and year-end reporting to regulatory authorities.
  • Prepares reporting materials required by Group entities (e.g. OPAP S.A., Sazka Delta, Allwyn).
  • Provides financial data and supporting analysis as required.

6. Agents Accounting & Communication

  • Handles agents’ financial queries related to transactions, balances, and statements.
  • Prepares required monthly and annual communications or confirmations for agents and authorities.
  • Maintains accurate records of agent-related transactions and agreements.

7. Data Management & Documentation

  • Maintains and updates spreadsheets, databases, and tracking tools (e.g. sponsorship expenses, cash payments) ensuring accuracy and consistency with ERP records.
  • Ensures proper documentation and audit trail for all accounting transactions and processes.

8. Audit & Compliance Support

  • Assists with internal and external audit processes by preparing requested documentation and reconciliations.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant regulations, internal policies, and reporting requirements.
  • Provides supporting data and clarifications to ensure completeness of records.

9. Collaboration & Ad Hoc Tasks

  • Responds to ad hoc accounting and operational requests aligned with business needs and role responsibilities.

Skills/ Qualifications/ Experience:

  • LCCI Accounting certification (Level 3) or an equivalent certification
  • BSc degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related Finance field is considered an advantage.
  • Professional qualification (CAT, AAT) will be considered an asset
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting/financial reporting experience, ideally in a regulated or listed environment

Location:

The position is for the Client's offices in Nicosia, Cyprus.

 

Remuneration: 

Annual Gross Salary based on qualifications and experience: €30K – €35K plus other benefits
