Construction Site Manager - Civil Engineer

About the Role
The role requires strong technical understanding of construction drawings, coordination between engineers and subcontractors, and close supervision of site execution. The role will be responsible for guiding the project through each construction stage — from structural works to finishing — ensuring that timelines, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met together woth the company's project manager.
The successful candidate should have proven experience delivering building projects in Cyprus and possess a strong understanding of local construction regulations, cost structures, subcontractor management, and material procurement.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning
- Define project scope, construction phases, timelines, and resource requirements.
Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules, ensuring all project milestones are met and sequencing between trades is properly coordinated. - Plan Review & Technical Oversight
- Thoroughly review architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical plans to ensure full understanding of project requirements.
Ensure that all construction works are executed strictly according to the approved drawings, specifications, and engineering instructions.
Identify potential inconsistencies or issues in plans early and coordinate solutions with consultants and engineers. - Site Supervision & Construction Coordination
- Supervise daily on-site construction activities and ensure work progresses according to schedule and design specifications.
Coordinate subcontractors, engineers, and service providers to ensure proper workflow and sequencing of construction activities. - Escort each stage of the construction process and verify that all works are executed correctly before moving to the next phase.
- Subcontractor Management
- Manage relationships with subcontractors and ensure they deliver work according to agreed quality standards, specifications, and timelines.
Monitor subcontractor performance on site and ensure proper coordination between different trades. - Risk & Issue Management
- Identify potential construction risks early and implement practical solutions to maintain project progress and avoid delays.
- Quality Assurance
- Ensure all construction works comply with project specifications, engineering standards, and regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular site inspections to maintain high construction quality and adherence to plans. - Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate site documentation, progress reports, material records, and site instructions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Process & Efficiency Improvements
- Contribute ideas and improvements that increase construction efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall project delivery.
Required Qualifications
• Degree in Civil Engineering (preferred) or a related engineering field
• Minimum 3 years of experience managing or supervising building construction projects
• Strong ability to read, understand, and execute architectural and engineering drawings
• Proven experience coordinating subcontractors and construction trades
• Experience managing construction materials procurement and supplier negotiations
• Strong knowledge of Cyprus construction regulations and industry practices
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform under pressure
• Proficiency with project management or construction planning tools
• Fluent in Greek and English
