CREW OFFICER

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Safe Bulkers Management, a Shipping Management company based in Limassol, is recruiting for a well organised professional with exceptional collaborative skills, hard-working and self-motivation to develop professionally in the Crew Department of the Maritime Shipping sector.

REQUIREMENTS:

The position requirements include:

·         An academic degree from a Nautical Academy or a University Degree in a field related to Maritime Studies.

·         Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar position

·         Excellent communication skills and knowledgeable English

·         Very good computer skills (knowledge in DANAOS Crew Module will be considered an asset)

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

The position responsibilities include the following:

·         Supports the proper IMS implementation regarding the ships’ manning and seagoing personnel training.

·         Supports/Administers the seagoing personnel recruitment.

·         Reviews the seafarers' qualifications, certification, etc.

·         Maintains personal, medical, and training records and certification details of all seafarers, including appraisals.

·         Keeps all seafarers' files up-to-date.

·         Maintains/monitors documents and certificates of embarking crew and makes sure that their qualifications comply with the Company criteria and the IMS procedures.

·         Supports with the crew travel arrangements and visa requirements with the Manning Agents and travel Agents.

·         Makes flight arrangements for Office personnel when attending ships and arranges their travel and visas at optimal cost.

·         Arranges timely dispatch of all correspondence to/from ships/Agents related to their Department.

·         Supports department’s projects.
