Job Description
The Head Principal will lead the launch and establishment of FUNecole®'s newly created Online International School, part of FUNecole® - one of the 28 Cambridge International Schools in Cyprus, offering both physical and online learning. This is a true start-up leadership role: the successful candidate will build the school from the ground up, putting in place the academic structures, operational systems, and communication channels needed to bring the school to life. In this initial phase, the Head Principal will be the central point of contact between the school and its teachers and parents, guiding the community through the launch period before taking on ongoing leadership of the fully established school and its new digital platform.
Key Responsibilities
1.    Lead the end-to-end set-up of the newly established FUNecole® Online International School, from foundational planning through to launch.
2.    Establish and oversee the academic, operational, and administrative structures that will underpin the school going forward.
3.    Serve as the primary point of contact for teachers during the start-up phase, providing clear direction, coaching, and support.
4.    Build and maintain open, ongoing communication with parents from the earliest stages of the school's launch.
5.    Develop the policies, schedules, and procedures required to run a Cambridge International–aligned online school.
6.    Oversee onboarding and training for teaching staff on the new FUNecole® platform.
7.    Monitor the school's progress during the start-up period and report outcomes and milestones to senior leadership.
8.    Transition smoothly from start-up lead into the ongoing role of Head Principal once the school is fully established.
Requirements
1.    Minimum of 20 years' experience in a similar leadership post (Principal, Head of School, or equivalent senior academic leadership role).
2.    Proven track record of leading or launching a school, campus, or comparable educational institution.
3.    Strong understanding of Cambridge International pedagogical and EdTech standards, including ISTE, STEM, IB, and other internationally recognised frameworks.
4.    Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with experience engaging both teaching staff and parent communities.
5.    Comfortable operating in a start-up environment, with the flexibility and initiative to build processes from scratch.
6.    Comfortable with Learning Management Systems and digital education tools; experience with online or blended school models is a strong advantage.
7.    Multilingual ability; Greek and/or English fluency is a strong advantage.
