Περιγραφή εργασίας

Prevention at Sea (PAS) is a maritime compliance and technology company with offices in Piraeus, Greece and Larnaca, Cyprus. We build software that helps ship operators, managers, and crew stay safe and compliant at sea. Our two flagship products are:

•     MORSe — a digital logbook and regulatory compliance platform covering MARPOL, SOLAS, MLC, and port state requirements, used by ship managers and vessel operators worldwide.

•     Immerseav — an immersive VR training platform for seafarers, delivering scenario-based competency assessments aligned to STCW and international maritime training frameworks.

We are growing our product and delivery team and looking for a junior analyst to grow with us.

The Role

As a Junior Business Analyst you will work directly alongside our Chief Product & AI Officer and product team to help turn customer needs and regulatory requirements into clear software features. You will be trained on our products, our customers’ industries, and the maritime compliance world from day one.

This is a learning role with real responsibility. You will not be sitting in the background — you will be talking to customers, writing requirements, joining delivery meetings, and helping prepare training materials within your first few months.

What You’ll Do

In your first 3 months:

•     Shadow the CPO and senior colleagues in customer meetings, product demos, and delivery sessions.

•     Learn the MORSe and Immerseav platforms end-to-end — understand every screen, every feature, and why it exists.

•     Begin drafting simple user stories and requirements documents under supervision.

•     Assist with preparing training materials, user guides, and meeting notes.

•     Start building foundational knowledge of maritime regulations (MARPOL, SOLAS, ISM Code) through structured onboarding.

Ongoing responsibilities:

•     Help translate customer feedback and regulatory requirements into structured user stories and product requirements.

•     Support sprint ceremonies — backlog grooming, planning, and retrospectives — as your understanding grows.

•     Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT): writing test cases, executing tests, logging defects clearly.

•     Prepare customer-facing materials: training decks, quick-reference guides, onboarding documents.

•     Join customer training sessions and go-live calls, initially observing then progressively leading.

•     Keep documentation clean, up to date, and version-controlled.

•     Produce meeting minutes, status updates, and delivery summaries.

What We’re Looking For

We care far more about how you think than what you’ve done. That said, here’s what will make you a strong candidate:

Essential — you must have these:

•     A university degree in any field — engineering, computer science, business, maritime studies, or similar technical/analytical disciplines preferred.

•     Strong written English: clear, structured, and precise. You will write a lot.

•     Analytical mindset: you enjoy breaking down a problem, asking why, and thinking through consequences.

•     Organised and detail-oriented: you notice when something doesn’t add up and you follow through.

•     Comfortable working with computers and digital tools — you pick up new software quickly.

•     Genuine interest in maritime, shipping, or regulated industries — or in compliance software specifically.

Desirable — great if you have these, but not required:

•     A maritime studies, nautical science, or marine engineering background — or time spent at sea.

•     Basic familiarity with agile/scrum concepts (even from reading or a course).

•     Experience using Jira, Confluence, Notion, or similar tools.

•     Exposure to data, spreadsheets, or basic SQL — enough to not be afraid of a database.

•     Second language — Greek, Arabic, or another language relevant to international shipping.

What We Offer

•     Structured onboarding and a real training plan — we invest in people who invest in learning.

•     Direct mentorship from an experienced CPO and maritime compliance experts.

•     Rapid exposure to international shipping companies, fleet managers, and maritime regulations that most analysts never encounter.

•     A clear growth path: we expect strong performers to progress to Mid-level within 18–24 months.

•     Competitive entry-level salary.

•     Opportunity to travel to Piraeus, customer sites, and industry events as you develop.

•     A small, collaborative team where your contributions are visible and valued.

The position offers an attractive compensation package including extra benefits as per company policy.

Πώς να υποβάλετε αίτηση

Send your CV to hr@preventionatsea.com with subject line: “Junior BA Application — [Your Name]” and a short cover letter (one page) stating:

•     Why you’re interested in maritime compliance software specifically — not just “tech” in general.

•     One example of a time you had to understand something complex and explain it clearly to someone else.

Applications without a cover letter addressing the two questions above will not be reviewed. We read every application personally.
