Our client is an established Limassol-based law firm providing comprehensive legal services to both local and international clients. The firm advises across a broad range of contentious and transactional matters and prides itself on delivering commercially focused, high-quality legal advice through a professional and personalised approach.
As the practice continues to grow, the firm is looking to strengthen its senior legal team with an experienced lawyer who can take significant ownership and play an important role in its continued development.
This is a senior and influential position for an experienced Litigation Lawyer who is ready to take on greater responsibility within a growing law firm.
Alongside managing complex litigation and property-related matters, the successful candidate will act as a key support to the firm’s leadership, reviewing and signing off work produced by junior lawyers, providing guidance to the wider team and helping oversee the quality and delivery of legal work.
The position offers considerable autonomy and is ideally suited to someone looking to become a trusted senior member of a practice rather than simply manage their own caseload.
Responsibilities
- Draft pleadings, agreements and other legal documentation
- Conduct legal research and review relevant legislation and case law
- Manage court cases and maintain effective communication with clients, colleagues and other parties
- Handle court appearances through the iJustice electronic filing and case management platform, as well as attending court in person when required
- Take ownership of litigation matters and ensure cases are managed effectively from instruction through to resolution
- Review the work of junior lawyers, provide guidance and ensure legal work meets the firm’s required standards
- Support the firm’s leadership with the supervision and day-to-day management of the legal team
- Draft, review and negotiate Sale Agreements, Tenancy Agreements, Assignment Agreements and other property-related legal documentation
- Manage property sale and purchase transactions from initial instructions through to completion
- Conduct legal due diligence relating to property acquisitions, including reviewing title deeds, encumbrances, permits and supporting documentation
- Liaise with clients, counterparties, lawyers, estate agents, developers, banks and other professionals involved in transactions
- Maintain strong client relationships and provide clear, commercially focused legal advice
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer in Cyprus and active member of the Cyprus Bar Association
- At least 7 years of experience as a Litigation Lawyer
- Strong experience independently managing litigation matters
- Excellent drafting skills, including substantial experience preparing court pleadings
- Experience handling property transactions, including property sales and purchases
- Strong knowledge of Cyprus law, court procedures and relevant legislation
- Excellent command of Greek and English, both written and spoken
- Strong legal research, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities
- Ability to review the work of junior lawyers and provide constructive technical guidance
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and priorities
- High degree of professional judgement, accountability and attention to detail
Ability to operate autonomously and take ownership within a senior position
