University Driver

Position Summary

AUB Mediterraneo is seeking a reliable and professional University Driver to handle all transport and transfer activities required by the university, and to ensure that university vehicles are maintained in safe, roadworthy condition with all legal documentation current. The role serves students, faculty, staff, and official university guests, and is often the first point of contact for visitors arriving on campus.

Key Responsibilities

Transport and Transfers

• Carry out all transfer and transport activities deemed necessary by the university, including Larnaca and Pafos airports pickups and drop-offs, transfers of students, staff, faculty, and official guests, and transport between campus, dormitories, and off-site locations.
• Support university events, field trips, recruitment activities, and official visits with transport as scheduled.
• Collect and deliver documents, supplies, equipment, and parcels on behalf of university offices.
• Plan routes and departure times to ensure punctual arrival, accounting for traffic and weather conditions.
• Maintain accurate trip logs, including mileage, fuel, destinations, and passengers.

Vehicle Maintenance and Legal Compliance

• Maintain all university vehicles in clean, safe, and roadworthy condition.
• Carry out daily pre-trip checks (tires, lights, fluids, brakes, warning indicators) and report faults immediately.
• Schedule and follow up on servicing, repairs, MOT inspections, and tire replacement in coordination with the Facilities Manager.
• Ensure that all legal documents for each vehicle — road tax, insurance, MOT certificate, registration — are valid, on board, and renewed before expiry.
• Maintain a current record of vehicle documentation, service history, and renewal dates, and alert management well in advance of expiry.
• Ensure fuel cards, receipts, and related expense records are properly kept and submitted.

Safety and Conduct

• Operate all vehicles in full compliance with Cyprus road traffic law and university policy.
• Ensure passenger safety at all times, including seatbelt use and safe loading of luggage and equipment.
• Report all accidents, incidents, traffic violations, and damage promptly and in writing.
• Maintain a courteous, discreet, and professional manner with students, staff, and visitors, and treat all information encountered in the course of duty as confidential.

General

• Perform any other duty related to the position as assigned by the direct manager.

Qualifications

• Secondary school education or equivalent.
• Valid Cyprus professional driving license with a clean driving record; category D or D1 (passenger transport) is a strong advantage.
• Valid and up-to-date Health Certificate
• Minimum three years of professional driving experience; experience in institutional, corporate, hospitality, or passenger transport preferred.
• Good working knowledge of Pafos and wider Cyprus road networks, including routes to Pafos and Larnaca airports.
• Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and the ability to identify mechanical problems early.
• Ability to communicate effectively in Greek and/or English.
• Familiarity with navigation applications and basic use of mobile phone and email for scheduling.
• Physical fitness suitable for loading luggage and equipment and for extended periods of driving.
• First Aid certification is an advantage.

Working Hours

• Full-time position.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required by transport schedules and university events.
• Availability for occasional travel across Cyprus.

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience.

• Family medical insurance coverage at 50% employer contribution after successful completion of six months of employment.
