Prevention at Sea is an LR ISO 9001 &amp; 27001 &amp; 22301 multi-awarded marine risk assessment company that offers maritime services for quality assurance as well as maritime software products with the aim to ensure fleet management optimization and data-driven decision making via paperless ship logs/records and big data analytics.Job OutlineOur Company is expanding and is currently seeking to recruit an Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our Accounts team in Larnaka.&nbsp;Duties &amp; Responsibilities:·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Record and maintain accurate daily financial transactions.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Process supplier invoices, customer invoices, receipts, and payments.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Reconcile bank statements and company accounts on a regular basis.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Prepare payment runs and support cash flow tracking.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Assist with VAT returns, tax filings, and other statutory reporting.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Prepare basic financial reports and summaries for management.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and external accountants as needed.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.&nbsp;Qualifications &amp; Requirements:<ul><li>Education: Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent professional qualification.</li><li>Experience: 3 years’ hands-on bookkeeping/accounting experience.</li><li>Technical Skills: Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central will be considered an extra advantage.</li><li>Compliance: Good knowledge of VAT, statutory reporting, and local tax requirements; experience preparing supporting documentation for external accountants and audits.</li><li>Treasury skills: Experience managing bank reconciliations, petty cash, payment runs, and basic cash-flow monitoring.</li><li>Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Greek language.</li><li>Confidentiality &amp; professionalism: Proven ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality and integrity.</li><li>Time management: Able to meet month-end and statutory deadlines, prioritize workload, and work under pressure in a fast-paced maritime environment.</li></ul>A flexible and friendly work environment is offered, as well as job training to support your continuous learning and personal development through our internal training programs.
