Job Summary

The Assistant Operations Manager supports the day-to-day operations of the spice blending, packaging, warehousing, procurement, and raw material trading activities of the company. The role ensures efficient production planning, inventory control, quality compliance, supplier coordination, and logistics management while maintaining food safety standards and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Production Management

·       Assist in planning and coordinating spice blending, mixing, packaging, and dispatch operations.

·       Monitor daily production schedules to ensure timely order fulfillment.

·       Optimize production workflows to improve productivity and reduce waste.

·       Coordinate machine maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.

·       Monitor yields, losses, and operational efficiency

Inventory & Warehouse Management

·       Monitor stock levels of spices, herbs, seasonings, additives, packaging materials, and other raw materials.

·       Ensure accurate inventory records and stock reconciliation.

·       Coordinate inventory counts and cycle stock audits

·       Manage storage conditions to maintain product quality and food safety.

Procurement & Supplier Coordination

·       Assist in sourcing and purchasing raw materials from local and international suppliers.

·       Follow up on purchase orders and supplier deliveries.

·       Monitor supplier performance regarding quality, pricing, and delivery reliability.

·       Support negotiations for procurement contracts and supply agreements.

·       Coordinate import/export documentation when required.

Logistics & Distribution

·       Coordinate transportation and delivery schedules.

·       Ensure efficient order processing and shipment execution.

·       Liaise with freight forwarders, transport providers, and customs agents.

·       Monitor delivery performance and customer service levels.

·       Resolve logistics-related issues and delays.

Quality Assurance & Food Safety

·       Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations.

·       Support implementation of ISO9001, ISO 22000, ISO45001, ISO 14001, ISO 22301, or other applicable standards.

·       Work closely with Quality Assurance personnel regarding product specifications and quality control procedures.

·       Investigate quality complaints and implement corrective actions.

·       Maintain operational records and compliance documentation.

Team Leadership

·       Supervise warehouse, production, and logistics personnel when required.

·       Provide training and guidance to operational staff.

·       Assist with workforce scheduling and resource allocation.

·       Promote a culture of safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

·       Participate in performance evaluations and employee development.

Financial & Performance Monitoring

·       Monitor operational costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.

·       Prepare operational reports and KPI dashboards.

·       Analyze inventory turnover, production efficiency, and delivery performance.

·       Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.

·       Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance profitability.

Qualifications

Education

·       Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience

·       2–3 years of experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, or raw materials trading.

·       Experience in production planning, warehouse management, procurement, or supply chain operations.
