The Art Teacher will deliver an inspiring and engaging visual arts programme within the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP). The successful candidate will encourage creativity, self-expression, and artistic exploration while supporting students in developing technical skills, critical thinking, and an appreciation of diverse artistic perspectives and cultures.Responsibilities:<ul><li>Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality visual arts lessons aligned with the IB PYP framework and school curriculum.</li><li>Create a stimulating, inclusive, and student-centred learning environment.</li><li>Foster creativity, inquiry, and artistic confidence in all students.</li><li>Encourage students to experiment with a wide range of artistic techniques, materials, and media.</li><li>Differentiate instruction to meet the individual learning needs of students.</li><li>Integrate visual arts into transdisciplinary units of inquiry where appropriate.</li><li>Promote the development of the IB Learner Profile attributes through arts education.</li><li>Maintain high standards of student behaviour and engagement.</li><li>The role may include a limited number of Art lessons within the Montessori Pre-Primary programme, as required by the school's timetable and operational needs.&nbsp;</li></ul>Assessment and Reporting<ul><li>Assess student learning using a range of formative and summative assessment methods.</li><li>Monitor and document student progress effectively.</li><li>Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.</li><li>Prepare reports and maintain accurate assessment records in accordance with school policies.</li></ul>Collaboration and Professional Practice<ul><li>Collaborate with classroom teachers and specialist colleagues to enhance student learning experiences.</li><li>Participate in collaborative planning meetings, professional development, and school events.</li><li>Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.</li><li>Support school exhibitions, assemblies, performances, and community events.</li><li>Maintain an organised, safe, and well-resourced art classroom.</li></ul>Safeguarding and Student Wellbeing<ul><li>Promote the wellbeing, safety, and inclusion of all students.</li><li>Adhere to the school's safeguarding, child protection, and health and safety policies.</li><li>Build positive and respectful relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.</li></ul>Qualifications and Experience<ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in Art, Fine Arts, Art Education, Visual Arts, or a related field.</li><li>Recognised teaching qualification.</li><li>Previous experience teaching art to primary-aged students.</li><li>Excellent classroom management and communication skills.</li><li>Strong understanding of inquiry-based and student-centred learning.</li></ul>Desirable<ul><li>Previous experience in an IB PYP school.</li><li>Knowledge and understanding of the IB philosophy and PYP framework.</li><li>Experience organising student art exhibitions and collaborative projects.</li><li>Experience working within an international school environment.</li></ul>Skills and Competencies<ul><li>Passion for visual arts education and student creativity.</li><li>Strong organisational and planning skills.</li><li>Ability to inspire and motivate young learners.</li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.</li><li>Collaborative approach to teaching and learning.</li><li>Commitment to continuous professional development.</li></ul>Personal Attributes<ul><li>Enthusiastic and creative educator.</li><li>Reflective practitioner with a growth mindset.</li><li>Flexible, adaptable, and proactive.</li><li>Committed to fostering international-mindedness and lifelong learning.</li></ul>Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00, Full Time&nbsp;Benefits:<ul><li>A unique opportunity for a career in a fast-growing polysystemic school.</li><li>Competitive salary and benefits package.</li><li>Modern &amp; Professional Work Environment.</li><li>Opportunities to learn and develop yourself.</li></ul>Safeguarding&nbsp;At The Island Private School of Limassol, we follow safer recruitment practices and are committed to safeguarding our students.
