Our client, one of the most recognised Groups in Cyprus, is seeking to recruit an experienced Accounting Manager, in Nicosia, on a full-time basis.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will report to the Financial Controller with the following main responsibilities:
Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timely finalization of the Trial Balance for all group companies, including oversight of period-end close processes, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and resolution of accounting discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations.
Lead and coordinate the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
Ensure timely submission of tax returns, VAT filings, and other statutory obligations.
Manage the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and fixed assets.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment on financial processes and business objectives.
Develop, implement, and maintain effective accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics or in any other related field and/or holder or partly holder of professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CPA)
At least six (6) years of experience as well as proven experience in a similar role
Strong understanding of accounting processes, month-end closing activities, account reconciliations, and the preparation of accurate and complete financial information.
Strong team orientation with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent command of the Greek and English languages, both verbal and written
Excellent computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office and exposure with computerized accounting software
Strong management skills, with the ability to effectively lead and develop teams, drive accountability, and ensure the efficient execution of accounting operations
Location: The position is for the headquarters of the group in Nicosia
Remuneration: A competitive remuneration package with gross annual salary of around €40K, according to qualifications and experience, will be offered to the successful candidate, plus a Medical Insurance Scheme, Provident Fund, and a range of additional employee benefits.
