Capital Intelligence Ratings (CI Ratings) is currently looking to recruit an Accounts Analyst to support its credit rating activities. This is a full-time, junior-to-intermediate position based in Limassol.
Job Overview
Accounts Analysts provide important support to credit rating analysts by sourcing annual reports and financial statements from rated banks and corporates, as well as third-party data providers, and entering information from these reports into standardised spreadsheets. Accounts Analysts make adjustments to reported financial data, in line with our criteria, and check that financial ratios and performance metrics have been calculated correctly.
Accounts Analysts also provide administrative support to rating committees and are responsible for updating information in CI’s ratings database. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to transition to a credit rating analyst role within 2-3 years.
Responsibilities
The following responsibility list is issued for guidance and is not exhaustive. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Sourcing and spreading financial information in a timely manner;
- Checking the accuracy of computed financial ratios;
- Saving/filing financial statements and related documents;
- Preparing peer group tables to facilitate the comparison of different entities;
- Preparing agendas and circulating reports prepared by credit rating analysts for rating committee meetings; and
- Updating the ratings database before and after rating committee meetings.
Requirements
- Good knowledge of financial statements and accounting standards (IFRS) gained through practical experience as a junior accountant (or similar), or from a job that involved financial analysis. Knowledge of bank financial statements and corporate cash flow analysis are pluses.
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in a numerical discipline (eg: accounting, economics, finance, business administration). Newly or partly qualified ACCA is a plus.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel; some knowledge of Microsoft Access would be helpful.
- Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills; able to work alone if necessary.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Aptitude and willingness to quickly learn about credit ratings and credit risk analysis.
- High level of written and spoken English.
- General interest in international finance and emerging markets.
