We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant / Accountant to join our Finance team in Cyprus. The role will cover a broad range of day-to-day accounting activities and will involve working closely with colleagues across the wider group, including our UK-based parent company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Suppliers & Payments

• Process and accurately code supplier invoices
• Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies
• Manage supplier queries and correspondence
• Prepare supplier payment runs and enter payments onto the banking system
• Process employee expense claims
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date supplier accounts

Sales & Debtors

• Raise and issue sales invoices and credit notes

• Monitor outstanding customer balances and carry out credit control

• Allocate customer receipts

• Respond to customer account queries and investigate discrepancies

Intercompany

• Raise and process intercompany invoices
• Reconcile intercompany accounts and investigate differences
• Liaise with other group companies to resolve outstanding items

Banking & Reconciliations

• Perform regular bank reconciliations across multiple accounts and currencies
• Accurately post and allocate receipts and payments
• Investigate and resolve outstanding or unreconciled items
• General finance support
• Provide additional month-end and general finance and accounting support as required

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Previous experience in an accounting or finance role
• Experience with Sage 50 or similar accounting software would be an advantage
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Very good command of written and spoken English
• Strong numerical skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team
• Experience working with multiple currencies and / or an international business would be an advantage

QUALIFICATIONS

An accounting qualification, relevant degree or progress towards a professional accounting qualification would be considered an advantage but is not essential where the candidate has relevant practical experience.
