As part of our continued growth, Complyport is seeking to recruit an Assistant Consultant for its Compliance team in Limassol or Nicosia.

This Role in a Nutshell

The successful candidate will draft, review and update compliance-related manuals, policies, processes, and procedures, advise, guide and assist financial firms (such as Investment Firms, EMIs, Fund Managers, Banks) on regulatory compliance matters and communicate with clients and the authorities.

What Does Your Role Specifically Involve?

• Draft, review and update manuals, policies, processes and procedures with respect to the operations of financial firms.
• Perform regular monitoring by following a Compliance Monitoring Programme to ensure that compliance standards and obligations of financial firms are adhered to.
• Support Senior Consultants with onsite and desk-based inspections on regulatory compliance matters.
• Ensure financial firms fulfil their annual obligations and license conditions.
• Provide advice and solutions to financial firms on regulatory compliance queries/issues.
• Provide support to the compliance expert team, help to coordinate with other departments (legal & corporate, accounting & tax, capital adequacy, internal audit etc.) and develop strong working relationships.
• Communicate on behalf of financial firms with the Cyprus Securities & Exchange Commission, the Central Bank of Cyprus and other local and EU authorities.
• Communicate with personnel and management of financial firms.
• Provide guidance and assistance to financial firms regarding client complaints.
• Prepare applications, notifications and record on behalf of financial firms.
• Work closely with a Senior Consultant to draft and review annual reports on Compliance, Risk Management, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and related matters.
• Review and analyse new regulations and advise how these are impacting financial firms.
• Develop compliance and AML training material and support with ongoing compliance training to financial firms’ personnel.
• Support AML checks and reviews and undertake client identification and due diligence of financial firms’ clients.

Here Are Our Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, from a reputable university, in Economics, Mathematics, Business, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Law or any other related discipline
• Strong organisational, analytical and strategic thinking skills
• Ability to take ownership and provide solutions to challenges
• Team spirit and willingness to study and develop
• Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills
• Communicating effectively, both in writing and verbally in Greek and in English and have strong influencing skills
• Computer literate, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel)

We'd Also Love to See (not mandatory):

• 1-2 years of professional experience in a corporate environment or the financial services sector
• CySEC Certificate (Basic or Advanced) for the provision of investment services.

You will be offered a competitive remuneration package, including a gross monthly salary in the range of €1,300 – €1,600 (indicative and non-binding), determined based on qualifications and experience. The package also includes a provident fund upon successful completion of the probation period, as well as discretionary performance bonus and flexible working arrangements (including one afternoon off and hybrid work), along with training opportunities and additional perks such as team events and career development opportunities.

Working Arrangements

Complyport's EU Compliance Service Department is based in our Limassol office. The successful candidate is expected to work from our Limassol office, until completing their probation period and/or the necessary training. Following successful completion of the necessary training, flexibility for hybrid working may be provided, including working from home and/or working from our Nicosia office, subject to conditions and coordination with their supervisor.
