Position: Assistant | External Audit – Banking & Financial Services

 

The External Audit team is rapidly expanding and seeking to recruit high calibre professionals to join the dedicated Audit Banking and Financial Services Industry (FSI) sub-team, at the level of Assistant, in our Nicosia and Limassol offices.

The Team

Our audit services go beyond merely meeting regulatory and statutory requirements for audited financial reports. We help our clients perform better and achieve their business objectives. In today's changing global economy, businesses need trusted advisors.  Our dedicated Audit Banking & FSI teams provides an efficient risk-based audit service, independent approach and world class expertise to leading organisations in banking, credit – acquiring companies, insurance, asset management, investment funds and brokerage firms.

 

The Role

The successful candidates will be involved, among others, in:

• serving the largest financial institutions operating in Cyprus and globally

• providing support to Managers in the delivery of client service and completion of strategic FSI audit engagements, while having daily interaction with the leadership of the engagements

• conducting audits and providing advice according to international best practices

• performing data analysis on major financial institutions and obtaining deep understanding of their process and controls

• being actively involved in the most challenging areas of the audit including areas of judgements and estimates

• engaging in constant communication with clients and maintaining client relations on a day-to-day basis

• utilising Deloitte’s unique proprietary audit tools to focus where it really matters

• being at the forefront of innovation by leveraging our proprietary cutting-edge AI tool

• ensuring effective management of people and time, excellent execution and provision of outstanding services to the clients

• developing suitable solutions through discussion in audit teams and with clients

• performing a variety of assurance and testing work for strategic clients in the FSI, a rapidly expanding service line

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree from a reputable University

• Studying towards the obtainment of the ACCA /ACA / CPA qualification, or interest in pursuing said qualifications

• 1-4 years of relevant experience in a reputable Professional Services Firm. Experience in the FSI industry will be considered an advantage.

• Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability

• Can-do attitude

• Strong analytical skills

• Ability to work under pressure and achieve results, whilst maintaining a client focused approach

• Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills

• Strong computer literacy

• Excellent command of the Greek and English languages, both verbal and written
