Duties
To provide effective teaching of the highest order to students assigned by the AAI Principal
To administer day-to-day routines, procedures and rules of the Institute
To provide a point of contact for parents of students taught and to support the communication between Institute and home
To ensure that students are well prepared for external examinations for approved qualifications in the subject taught.
Requirements
Education & Experience
University degree or equivalent, certified by KYSATS, in the subject to be taught
Experience teaching GCSE and GCE ‘A’ level in the subject to be taught
Experience in teaching public school level in the subject to be taught
Experience in preparing students for the entrance exams (Παγκύπριες Εξετάσεις) of public universities in Cyprus and Greece
Relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g. PGCE) will be considered as an advantage
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of general principles of teaching, subject specific curriculum design and assessment for learning
Knowledge of Greek & English language
Knowledge of GCSE/A Level assessment criteria will be considered an advantage
Ability to identify their own development needs (professional and subject based), take ownership of their professional development and be prepared to improve their teaching practice and knowledge
Ability to communicate information and ideas using verbal, visual and written communication so that students will understand
Ability to use Microsoft office suite applications, management information systems (MIS) and training and education applications
