The Communications Officer is responsible for developing and implementing effective communication and marketing strategies that enhance the University's image, promote its activities, and showcase its academic offerings. The successful candidate will manage media relations, digital communications, events, and promotional content across multiple platforms. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, the Communications Officer will ensure consistent messaging and support the University's outreach, advertising, and public relations initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

·         Develop and implement communication and advertising plans across a variety of media and platforms.

·         Create engaging, high-quality promotional and media content tailored to different target audiences.

·         Manage day-to-day communication and marketing activities in collaboration with media, partners, and stakeholders.

·         Proactively identify newsworthy stories, prepare press releases and articles, and coordinate media outreach to generate positive publicity.

·         Build and maintain strong relationships with media representatives and stakeholders.

·         Monitor, analyse, and report on media coverage.

·         Plan, execute, monitor, and optimise digital marketing campaigns across online and social media channels.

·         Evaluate the effectiveness of digital marketing strategies and recommend improvements.

·         Manage the University's social media presence, including community engagement and influencer collaborations.

·         Oversee the University's digital platforms, including the website and email newsletters.

·         Coordinate with external agencies for media buying and campaign implementation.

·         Organise events and promotional activities.

Education

·         Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.

·         Professional training in Digital Communications will be considered an advantage.

Experience

·         Previous experience in communications and marketing.

·         Proven experience in social media management and digital marketing, with strong digital skills and an excellent understanding of current digital trends.

·         Previous experience within an academic or higher education environment will be considered an advantage.

Technical & Professional Skills

·         Excellent written communication skills in both Greek and English.

·         Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

·         Excellent understanding of the national media landscape.

·         Strong knowledge of social media platforms and content development.

·         Excellent organisational, administrative, communication, presentation, and computer skills.

Personal Competencies

·         Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

·         High level of integrity, professionalism, and a positive attitude.

·         Creativity and innovative thinking.

·         Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
