CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an established Law Firm with offices in Limassol, we are seeking to recruit a Corporate Lawyer/AML Compliance Officer (Dual Role) to join their growing team. The successful applicant will handle a range of corporate legal matters, as well as ensuring the continuous review of all related laws and regulations to ensure the business maintains compliance with the required AML laws and regulations. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in Law, who are full members of the Cyprus Bar Association. You will need to hold approximately 5+ years of relevant experience both in corporate law, and compliance. Fluency in Greek and English is required, and holders of any relevant AML certification/s are encouraged to apply. An excellent remuneration and benefits package is on offer, which includes a generous base salary, 13th salary, medical insurance, and provident fund. Working hours are from 09:00 – 18:00 from Monday to Friday.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Handle the formation and registration of companies in Cyprus and other jurisdictions.
• Coordinate with registered agents overseas for the registration and dissolution of foreign companies.
• Handle and administer all KYC and due diligence procedures.
• Update internal databases on the client, UBO's and other matters as requested.
• Arrange for the execution, certification, and legalization of documents.
• Deal with the execution of changes in the structure of companies (including but not limited to shareholding, directorship, share capital, change of name); submission of annual returns and other annual requirements including UBO register filings.
• Liaise with clients, external regulators, and professional advisers, such as lawyers and auditors.
• Draft corporate and other documents such as minutes, resolutions, agreements, powers of attorney, registers, and letters with respect to the actions of the companies.
• Roll out and delivery of comprehensive ongoing training to all members of staff on AML/TF.
• Continuous review of all related laws and regulations to ensure the business always maintains compliance with the required AML laws and regulations.
• Responsible for all the mandatory reporting to the regulators.
• Screening/ onboarding of new clients and parties as requested.

Key Skills/Experience: 

• University law degree (an LPC or LLM shall be considered an advantage).
• 5+ years experience as a corporate lawyer and compliance officer.
• Member of the Cyprus Bar Association.
• AML certifications are highly desirable.
• Good working knowledge in Company formation and maintenance.
• Good knowledge of regulatory requirements.
• Experience with AML and KYC procedures.
• Good communication skills in English and Greek.
• Strong business communication skills.
• Accurate and good attention to detail.
• Proactive approach to work.
• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to develop detailed policies and procedures.
• Eligibility to work in Cyprus.
• Computer proficiency.
