Data Analyst

Who we are

The purpose of SAT‑7 is to provide Christian content through satellite television, digital and social media to support the work of the church in the Middle East and North Africa.

SAT-7 broadcasts across the Middle East and North Africa in Arabic, Farsi and Turkish (on satellite, on social media and on streaming) where thousands of viewers write to us every month and interact with our social media pages.

You will be part of a team that turns complex business questions into measurable insights. Your work could involve analysing viewer engagement to understand which content drives audience response, refining performance reporting to ensure consistency and accuracy, assessing production efficiency across international teams, or helping leaders make informed decisions by separating meaningful trends from fluctuations in the data.

Key Responsibilities

·         Write the BigQuery SQL and data models behind our analytics platform

·         Design and build the dashboards that channel, production, finance and people teams use

·         Define what our metrics actually mean, and keep them consistent everywhere they appear

·         Investigate data-quality problems and fix them at the source rather than patching the report

·         Present findings to non-technical colleagues clearly enough that they change what they do

We run our own analytics platform and systems in-house, so you will not be working around a rigid BI tool. If you want to change how a page works, you can, with the team alongside you.

We also build with AI agents, seriously and every day, its data models and most of its pages were made that way. We are not looking for someone who has read about it. We are looking for someone who already works like this: who can brief an agent properly, follow what it did, hold the system architecture in their head well enough to see what a change touches, and knows exactly which parts of an AI-written query have to be verified before a number goes in front of leadership.

Qualifications and Requirements

·         Hands-on experience working with AI coding agents on real work, and a clear sense of how they operate, where they fail, and what has to be checked before their output is trusted

·         Enough architectural thinking to trace a change through a system: what feeds what, and what breaks downstream

·         The judgement to tell a good number from a plausible one, and the courage to say which is which

·         Clear written and spoken English, with non-technical audiences

·         Experience in working with Google BigQuery and Google Cloud services

·         Knowledge of Python and JavaScript/React

·         Ability to work under pressure, prioritize workloads, and deliver fast, reliable solutions.

·         Communication and time-management skills.

·         Be sympathetic with and enthusiastic about the purpose and goals of SAT‑7

Helpful but not required:

·         Previous experience as data analyst role, with SQL as your daily tool

·         Experience building data models and dashboards that other people depend on
