Who we are: Generation for Change CY (GFC) is a grassroots non-profit organization composed of individuals of different backgrounds working together to foster a diverse and inclusive society where everyone has equitable access to opportunities in Cyprus. Position Title: Education Manager (Full-time)
Position Details: This is a full-time role, based in Nicosia, Cyprus. The position can start anytime between now and September 2025, depending on the availability of the selected candidate and the organization’s needs.
Salary: €1,750 – €2,005 (gross) plus 13th salary
Role and Responsibilities: The Education Manager will support the design, coordination, and delivery of GFC’s language education programs and EU-funded educational initiatives. This work will be carried out under the leadership and pedagogical direction of the Head of Education, with the Education Manager responsible for implementing and supporting the following activities:
1) Program Coordination & Implementation
- Coordinate the planning, delivery, and evaluation of Greek and English language programs for migrants and refugees.
- Contribute to the design of inclusive, culturally responsive, and learner-centered lesson plans and teaching materials.
- Monitor program activities and ensure alignment with donor requirements and internal quality standards.
2) Educator Support & Supervision
- Recruit, train, and supervise educators, volunteers, and peer facilitators.
- Organize onboarding, mentoring, and ongoing pedagogical support for education staff and volunteers.
- Deliver Greek and/or English language classes to migrants and refugees of all ages, as needed.
3) Research & Educational Resource Development
- Support the development of language teaching resources, including books, toolkits, and guides, for EU and internationally funded projects.
- Conduct applied research on inclusive language education, anti-racism, and migrant inclusion.
- Contribute to donor and partner reports, particularly within EU and internationally funded project frameworks.
4) Stakeholder Engagement & Representation
- Build partnerships with NGOs, schools, and community organizations to support outreach and learner recruitment.
- Represent GFC in education-focused events, networks, and stakeholder meetings in Cyprus and abroad.
- Design and deliver training workshops on anti-racism, inclusion, and intercultural competence.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Humanities, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience teaching Greek and/or English in formal or non-formal education settings.
- Experience working with migrants, refugees, or other marginalized groups.
- Familiarity with the CEFR framework, lesson planning, and learner-centered teaching methodologies for youth and adults.
- Experience designing and facilitating training sessions or workshops on antiracism, intercultural competency, and other related topics for educators or the public.
- Strong intercultural awareness and a commitment to anti-racism and inclusive education.
Desirable Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Teaching Greek/English as a Second Language or a related field.
- Experience working on EU-funded projects (e.g., Erasmus+, AMIF, CERV).
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment, manage complex situations, and respond to challenges with critical thinking and professionalism.
- Fluency in English and Greek (spoken and written); knowledge of Arabic or French is a plus.
- Flexibility to travel within Cyprus and internationally when needed.
- Confident user of Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and digital tools for education and project coordination.
Benefits and Compensation: GFC offers a competitive salary and benefits package compliant with Cypriot labor law. The package includes a gross monthly salary of €1,750–€2,005, a 13th salary, and additional benefits.
