Position: Experienced Accountants - Senior | Business Process Solutions

 

Our Business Process Solutions department is seeking to recruit Experienced Accountants, with or without audit experience, to join us, at the level of Senior, based in our Nicosia office.

The Role

The successful candidate will join the Deloitte Global Tax Centre Europe BV/SRL (with teams based in Belgium, Cyprus, Slovakia and India), which offers a diverse spectrum of integrated financial reporting solutions and financial resources to international companies and well-known large organisations with European operations.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Interact with a diverse range of multinational clients to ensure that they remain compliant from a statutory and tax perspective.

• Involved in the preparation/review of statutory financial statements across various jurisdictions in the EMEA region based on their respective local GAAPs, enabling individuals to gain exposure to and knowledge of different accounting and financial reporting frameworks.

• Conversion of management (US/UK GAAP/IFRS) trial balance to local GAAP compliant trial balance to enable statutory financial statements preparation.

• Being the day-to-day point of contact in the team for ad hoc GAAP.

• Coach junior team members and assist project managers with the delivery of compliance services to an international client portfolio.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree from a reputable University in Accounting or related fields

• Holder of ACA, ACCA, CPA or similar qualification will be considered as an advantage but not required

• 2-6 years of relevant experience in a Professional Services organisation

• Good knowledge of IFRSs

• Knowledge of UK GAAP and/or UK FRS101 will be considered as an advantage but not required

• Experience of conversion from US or UK GAAP to IFRS or to other local GAAP within Europe will be considered an advantage but not required

• Excellent organisational skills

• Excellent computer literacy and strong Microsoft Excel skills

• Knowledge of cloud-based Accounting Software platforms will be considered an advantage

• Client-service mindset and the confidence to make daring, pragmatic recommendations

• Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written

• Occasional traveling abroad may be required
