Facilities Officer

CMMI is seeking a skilled Facilities Officer to ensure the smooth operation, maintenance, and development of the Institute’s campuses, laboratories, vessels, and infrastructure. The role covers both day-to-day facility operations and the implementation of management systems that guarantee safety, compliance, and efficiency across the Institute.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Manage and maintain CMMI’s campuses, laboratories, testing platforms, and research facilities.
Oversee building systems, utilities, and electromechanical equipment, including maintenance schedules and contractor services.
Administer procurement, installation, servicing, and lifecycle management of research and technological infrastructure (RTI) equipment.
Support the administration and readiness of CMMI’s research and training vessels, ensuring safety and compliance.
Collaborate with ICT staff to maintain secure, reliable digital infrastructure and core ICT systems.
Implement and monitor management systems, including ISO 9001 certification, risk assessments, and audit readiness.
Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, including occupational health and fire safety.
Maintain accurate records of assets, layouts, inventories, and procurement activities.
Prepare reports on facility and infrastructure performance, compliance status, and investment needs.
Provide cross-Centre support with technical services, infrastructure expertise, and inter-campus coordination.
Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field.
Fluency in Greek and English (written and spoken).
Strong organisational, documentation, and reporting skills.
Good interpersonal and communication abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Preferred:
Professional experience in infrastructure, facilities, or technical operations.
Experience with ISO 9001 or similar management systems.
Knowledge of HSE, quality assurance, or compliance frameworks.
Familiarity with research, laboratory, or vessel operations.
