About
The Cyprus Hydrocarbons Company (CHC) is the National Oil & Gas Company of Cyprus, established in March 2014. CHC is accountable for the commercial management of the ownership rights of the Republic of Cyprus (RoC) deriving from the Production Sharing Contracts (PSC's) that the RoC has entered with Licensees in the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of the RoC. CHC may also, under the guidelines issued by the Council of Ministers, participate with an ownership interest in potential LNG infrastructure and in upstream natural gas transmission pipelines owned or acquired by the RoC. The operations of CHC may also expand to include owning participating interests, asset management, and performing hydrocarbons exploration and exploitation operations.
CHC additionally supports the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry (MECI) with:
- Negotiations with potential Contractors for the conclusion of PSCs
- Assessments of the RoC EEZ hydrocarbon resource potential and materiality established from exploration seismic and drilling activities. Undertaking economic analysis to evaluate commerciality of hydrocarbon discoveries in the RoC EEZ.
- Lifecycle maturation evaluation and assurance of key Front-End deliverables provided by the Contractors in the PSCs, leading to Declarations of Commerciality, Concept Selection and Final Investment Decisions. Providing rigorous risk assessment for full lifecycle Major CAPEX Project delivery.

Position Purpose
This position will be reporting directly to the Director General and the Board of Directors for selected duties. Under the supervision of the Director General, CHC is seeking a capable and motivated HR Officer to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a broad range of Human Resources administration, implementation and coordination activities. The successful candidate will drive and contribute to the effective development and implementation of effective HR processes to boost company performance and support the Company's people-related initiatives and operations. People are a company’s greatest assets!
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for the following tasks:
·Human Resources matters
o First point of contact for employee HR issues and supporting management team in addressing them
o Periodical evaluations of employee value proposition, with recommendations for improvement
o Coordination of recruitment activities and migration processes
o Coordination of the employee lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding
o Preparation and maintaining Human Resource records.
o Effective implementation of the electronic leave management system
o Coordination of the Company's Pension Scheme
o Coordination of employee development programmes, training courses and seminars
o Preparation, implementation and oversight of policy compliance and development of recommendations
o HR reporting and management information
o Coordination and oversight of the annual performance evaluation process in collaboration with the management team.
o Liaison and coordination with the Human Resources Development Authority of Cyprus (HRDA)
o Liaison and collaboration with universities.
· Board of Directors support
o Coordination of Board of Directors meetings in collaboration with the Chairperson and the Director General
o Preparation of supporting documentation for meetings
o Taking minutes of Board meetings. Tracking Board meeting actions and maintaining register.
o Board payroll & expenses coordination.
· Other administrative matters:
o Focal point for a number of internal processes.
Candidate Requirements:
a. Qualifications and Professional experience:
Minimum Requirements:
- A university degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Philosophy, Humanities or another related field.
- At least three (3) years of relevant professional HR experience.
The following will be considered an advantage:
- Postgraduate degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration disciplines would be considered preferential.
b. Language skills, Computer skills and Social skills:
- Excellent command of English and Greek, both written and spoken.
- Fluent with Microsoft systems.
- Previous experience in using the ERGANI, ERMIS and CYLOGIN electronic systems will be considered an advantage. These systems are Cyprus specific, and should not deter international professionals from applying.
- Experience in the use of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) or other HR management software.
- Strong interpersonal skills, well organized and delivery-minded.
What We Offer
Base Salary starting from EUR €25,000 to €35,000*
*The starting salary for this scale range is between €25k-€29.500 based on the assessment of experience.
