CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an established provider of Audit, Accounting & Tax services to a diverse portfolio of clients, we are seeking to recruit an Internal Accountant to join their growing team based in Lakatamia, Nicosia. As an Internal Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records, managing invoicing and credit control, overseeing payroll and payments, and providing clear visibility of cash flow and financial performance. Our client is seeking applicants who hold approximately 5+ years of proven experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and financial administration, who are fluent in both Greek and English. An attractive remuneration package is on offer based on skills and experience. Flexible working hours are on offer, including Friday afternoon’s off.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts across five companies, including bank reconciliations, supplier invoices, expenses, credit cards, and petty cash.
Manage invoicing and revenue processes, including recurring invoices, receipts, and ensuring all billable work is invoiced correctly and on time.
Review client profitability, timesheets, and scope of work to identify undercharging and recommend fee adjustments where appropriate.
Manage credit control, including monitoring outstanding balances, following up overdue accounts, maintaining aged-debtors reports, and escalating significant arrears.
Oversee monthly payroll, including timesheets, holidays, absences, overtime, bonuses, and commissions, and ensure payroll taxes and contributions are properly handled.
Prepare and coordinate supplier and payroll payments, ensuring appropriate approvals are obtained before payments are released.
Monitor cash flow and upcoming financial commitments, providing a weekly cash-position summary to Management.
Provide management with timely financial information and highlight potential risks, discrepancies, or areas requiring attention.
Key Skills/Experience:
An academic background in a relevant field of study.
Holders of, or those working towards any relevant accounting qualifications/certifications are welcome to apply.
Proven experience in accounting, bookkeeping and financial administration of approximately 5+ years.
Strong knowledge of invoicing, reconciliations, credit control, payroll, and payments.
Experience with cash-flow management, aged debtors, and client profitability.
Commercial awareness with the ability to identify underbilling.
Strong Excel and accounting software skills.
Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and accuracy.
Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with clients, suppliers, and staff.
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and proactively identify financial issues and risks.
Fluency in Greek and English.
