CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a long-established Investment Firm with an investment portfolio which includes real estate, agriculture, trading, and information technology, we are seeking to recruit a Junior Accountant to join their growing team based in Nicosia. As a Junior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining financial health and supporting the strategic goals of our client. You will be responsible for maintaining financial records, reporting, compliance, and analysis. We are seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in a relevant field of study, who either Part-Qualified (ACA/ACCA) or holders of the LCCI Higher accounting certification. You will need to possess a minimum of 2+ years of relevant work experience gained in the accounting and/or audit field, and be fluent in both Greek and English. An attractive remuneration package is on offer based on skills and experience, along with hybrid working options, and flexible working hours.

 

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Maintain books and records for a portfolio of companies of the Group.
• Deal with complex accounting transactions.
• VAT and VIES preparation and submission of returns.
• Conduct internal or external audits to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure the company's financial practices adhere to IFRS and Cyprus Tax Department regulations.
• Act as a liaison with auditors and local tax authorities.
• Ad hoc data analysis.

 

Key Skills/Experience: 

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration.
• Partly-Qualified ACA/ACCA or LCCI Higher.
• Minimum 2+ years of relevant work experience in Accounting/Audit is essential.
• Deep understanding of the reporting of complex financial transactions, adjustments, and reclassifications.
• Strong Analytical skills, with the ability to prepare insightful analyses and produce a professional report.
• Good Knowledge of MS Office.
• Knowledge of ESOFT accounting software will be considered an advantage.
• Knowledge of VAT and Cyprus Tax will be considered an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork skills.
• Excellent command of Greek and English.
• Good interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines, perform well under pressure.
• Capable to deliver results of a high level.
• Highly committed individual with strong analytical skills.
