As our team expanding, we are seeking to recruit a Junior Systems Administrator to provide operational support and maintenance for the company’s hybrid IT infrastructure, including on-premise servers, cloud platforms, and core business systems. This role bridges field engineering and infrastructure administration, supporting both traditional and modern IT environments.
Working closely with the Infrastructure Service Owners (Cloud, Network, Workplace), the Junior Systems Administrator ensures the reliability, security, and performance of systems and services while developing skills in automation, cloud operations, and enterprise administration. The position offers an excellent career progression path toward System Administrator or Service Owner roles.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Operations & Maintenance
Monitor and maintain physical and virtual server environments (Windows Server, VMware, Hyper-V).
Support deployment, configuration, and management of Azure resources (VMs, storage, networking).
Perform patching, backup verification, and health monitoring across hybrid infrastructure.
Assist with configuration management and automation initiatives using PowerShell and scripting tools.
Support on-premise infrastructure components, including DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, and file services.
Maintain accurate system documentation, network diagrams, and operational records.
Cloud & Modern Workplace Management
Assist in the administration of Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory, and Intune environments.
Manage user identities, groups, and access controls across on-prem and cloud directories.
Support device management, compliance, and application deployment through Intune and Autopilot.
Participate in initiatives to optimize collaboration, mobility, and endpoint security.
Incident & Problem Management
Act as an escalation point for Field Engineers and Service Desk for infrastructure-related incidents.
Troubleshoot and resolve server, network, and cloud service issues following ITSM standards.
Contribute to root cause analysis and continuous improvement of recurring issues.
Record all incidents and service requests in the ITSM platform (e.g., ServiceNow) with clear documentation.
Security, Compliance & Backup
Support endpoint protection, system hardening, and security compliance checks.
Apply system updates, patches, and configuration changes in line with change management procedures.
Monitor backup jobs and disaster recovery systems, ensuring data integrity and restore readiness.
Assist in enforcing policies related to access management, MFA, and security baselines.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
Support infrastructure projects, migrations, and technology refreshes under senior engineer guidance.
Participate in hybrid cloud integration, monitoring, and automation initiatives.
Contribute to knowledge base articles and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Continuously develop technical expertise through training, certifications, and mentorship.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- 2–4 years in a technical support, field engineering, or system administration role.
- Strong understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware or Hyper-V) and basic networking.
- Exposure to Azure, Intune, or other cloud platforms preferred.
Technical Competencies
- Windows Server administration (roles, GPOs, file permissions).
- Active Directory and Azure AD management.
- M365 and Intune administration for endpoint and user management.
- PowerShell scripting and automation fundamentals.
- Backup and recovery solutions (Veeam, Azure Backup, or similar).
- Networking fundamentals (VLANs, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls).
Certifications (Preferred)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or M365 Modern Desktop Administrator.
- CompTIA Network+, Server+, or equivalent.
- ITIL Foundation or similar service management certification.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Team-oriented with excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Self-motivated learner with a proactive attitude toward improvement.
- Ability to work under guidance yet take ownership of assigned tasks.
