We are dedicated to helping organizations achieve sustainable growth, manage regulatory and reputational risk, and execute strategic objectives through high-impact advisory services.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Licensing Officer with 2–5 years of experience to join our Advisory Department. The successful candidate will manage licence applications and regulatory registrations for clients from initial scoping through to authorisation, prepare and coordinate application packages, and act as a point of contact with supervisory authorities.
The role involves working with clients across financial services, fintech, payments, funds, and crypto-related sectors in multiple jurisdictions, including the EU, UAE, and wider Middle East.
What You Will Own
Manage end-to-end licence applications and regulatory registrations for Investment Firms, CASPs, Payment Institutions, EMIs, Funds, and Fund Managers.
Assess client business models and advise on the appropriate licence type, regulatory perimeter, and jurisdiction.
Draft and review application documents, including business plans, programmes of operations, policies and procedures, and governance and organisational structure documentation.
Prepare and coordinate fit-and-proper, ownership, and qualifying-holding documentation for shareholders, directors, and key function holders.
Maintain application trackers, document checklists, and submission timelines, ensuring packages are complete, consistent, and submitted on time.
Prepare responses to regulatory questions and requests for additional information, coordinating input from clients and internal teams.
Liaise with regulatory authorities, clients, legal advisers, auditors, and other stakeholders throughout the authorisation process.
Support post-licensing obligations, including notifications, change-of-control filings, passporting, and variations of licence.
Collaborate with the compliance, risk management, and internal audit teams on integrated client projects.
Monitor regulatory developments affecting licensing requirements (e.g. MiCA, MiFID II, PSD/EMD, AIFMD/UCITS) across the EU, UAE, and Middle East.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in law, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
2–5 years of experience in licensing, regulatory compliance, or a related role within financial services, a consultancy, a law firm, or a regulatory authority.
Hands-on experience preparing licence applications or regulatory submissions for regulated financial services firms.
Sound understanding of licensing and authorisation requirements applicable to financial services (investment services, payments, e-money, funds, and/or crypto-assets).
Knowledge and practical experience of the UAE regulatory and licensing landscape (DFSA/DIFC, FSRA/ADGM, SCA, CBUAE, VARA) will be considered a strong advantage.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Greek and/or Arabic will be considered an advantage.
Strong drafting skills, with high attention to detail and consistency across large document packages.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple applications and deadlines.
Ability to take initiative, work independently, and collaborate effectively within a team.
Professional qualifications such as CySEC Basic/Advanced/AML, ICA, ACAMS, or other relevant certificates/diplomas will be considered an advantage.
What We Offer
Exposure to licensing and authorisation processes across multiple jurisdictions (EU, UAE, Middle East).
Opportunity to work on high-impact licensing projects for a diverse portfolio of regulated and fintech clients.
Flexible working hours and hybrid working arrangements.
Continuous professional development and support for relevant certifications.
Clear career progression within the Advisory Department.
Supportive, collaborative, and professional work environment.
Competitive remuneration package in line with experience and qualifications.
How You Work
You take ownership of licensing matters and follow them through from initial scoping to completion. You are organised, precise and comfortable managing multiple applications and regulatory deadlines at the same time.
