Pastry Assistant – Key Responsibilities
Assist with the preparation and production of pastries, cakes, desserts, and other sweet baked goods.
Support pastry chefs with mixing, weighing, measuring, and preparing ingredients.
Assist with decorating, finishing, and presenting products to the required standards.
Prepare ingredients and ensure all equipment and tools are ready for production.
Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic workstation.
Follow recipes, instructions, and established production procedures.
Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
Assist with stock rotation, ingredient storage, and minimising food waste.
Requirements
Previous experience in a bakery or pastry kitchen is an advantage but not essential.
Basic knowledge of baking or pastry techniques is desirable.
Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a busy bakery environment.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
Positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team.
Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
Food Hygiene certification is an advantage.
