We are seeking to recruit a detail-oriented and experienced professional for the position of Payroll Officer in our Client Services Department, to be based in our offices in Nicosia.
Role and Responsibilities
Managing a portfolio of client entities and handling all payroll-related matters on their behalf on a monthly basis.
Preparing and processing monthly payroll for employees of client entities, ensuring accuracy of all gross-to-net calculations including Social Insurance, GESY, and income tax withholding.
Preparing and submitting employer declarations and employee PAYE returns to the Cyprus Tax Department on behalf of clients.
Managing Social Insurance Fund (SIF) contribution submissions for client entities on a monthly basis.
Preparing and filing the Employer's Return (IR7), IR59, IR63, benefits in kind, employee advances and monthly deductions, ergani, PAYE, SI and GESY registrations for employees and companies
Monitoring and applying updates to statutory rates (minimum wage, SIF, GESY) across all managed client payrolls.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date payroll records for each client, including new starters, leavers, salary changes, and benefit adjustments.
Issuing payslips and relevant payroll documentation to client employees as instructed.
Correspondence and communication with clients in respect of payroll instructions, queries, and compliance obligations on a daily basis.
Maintaining client payroll data within the firm's systems with strict data separation and audit trail discipline.
The Profile of the Ideal Candidate
University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline and/or relevant professional qualification.
Minimum 3 years of payroll processing experience in Cyprus, ideally managing multiple client mandates simultaneously.
Sound working knowledge of Cyprus Social Insurance legislation, PAYE, and GESY.
Experience preparing IR7, SIF, and GESY filings independently.
Experience with payroll or accounting software; familiarity with Softone is considered a strong advantage.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Good organisational and time-management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines across multiple client portfolios.
Strong sense of commitment, discretion, and professional responsibility.
Good command of the Greek and English languages.
