Post-Doctoral Fellow

We are looking for a Post-Doctoral Fellow to join the Bioinformatics Department of the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics.
The Bioinformatics Department is active in research, education, and laboratory services, in line with the mission of CING. A key focus of the team is computational biology, Bioinformatics, and omics data analysis, with emphasis on infectious diseases, multi-omics integration, and in silico drug discovery.
JOB SUMMARY
The successful candidate will contribute to the EU HORIZON project REFINE (Receptor-Focused Interventions Against Orthoflavivirus Neuroinvasion and Entry).
The position is for 12 months with the possibility of extension.
WHAT WE ARE SEEKING
- A PhD degree in any of the following, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, Biological, Bioinformatics, or a closely related field
- Strong command of the English language
- Strong interpersonal analytical and communication skills
- Experience with Unix environments and programming languages (Python, R)
The following will be considered as advantages:
- Background in biological sciences, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or related fields
- Experience in infectious diseases, multi-omics data analysis, and in silico drug discovery.
- Experience working with viral proteins, structural biology, molecular docking or molecular dynamics
- Experience with machine leaning on high-performance computing environments
- Experience in web development
