We are looking for a full-time Project Manager to join the Bioinformatics Department of the Cyprus Institute of Neurology & Genetics (CING).
The position is for 12 months with the possibility of an extension for 24 additional months.
The department actively engages in research, education, and services, aligning with CING’s mission to advance biomedical research. The team focuses on various research areas, including computational and mathematical methods for Evidence-Based Policy Research and sex, gender and intersectionality integration in biomedical studies.
JOB SUMMARY
The successful candidate will oversee the management of research projects within the Bioinformatics Department, ensuring smooth coordination and execution. Specifically, they will serve as Project Manager for the European Project entitled pICTureURpath: Fostering gender balance in pursuing ICT-related studies and professions (ERASMUS-EDU-2024-POL-EXP-DIGITAL - Policy Experimentation - Digital Education) while also contributing to the management of additional research initiatives. Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating project activities, timelines, and deliverables
- Managing project budgets, reports, and compliance with funding requirements
- Facilitating communication between research teams, stakeholders, and funding bodies
- Developing scientific content for communication and dissemination of project outcomes
WHAT WE ARE SEEKING
- A BSc in any Mathematics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Engineering, Biological Sciences, Business or a closely related field
- Strong command of the English language (written and spoken).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
The following will be considered as advantages:
- An MSc/PhD in one of the relevant disciplines.
- Experience in research project management and EU funding frameworks and reporting requirements.
- Experience in scientific content development and dissemination.
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas: Data integration and computational modeling, Policy monitoring and evaluation, Data-driven policymaking, Statistical analysis, Sex, gender, and intersectionality analysis
