Job Title: 

Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer

Location: 

AEON Payment Technology Office (Nicosia - On-Premises) 

Job Type & Working Hours: 

Full Time: 09:00—18:00 (1-hour lunch break) 

Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Engineer with hands-on experience in reviewing business requirements, designing structured test cases, and executing end-to-end testing processes. Skilled in identifying defects, analysing issues, and reporting them clearly using tools such as Jira, ensuring proper documentation of steps, expected vs actual results, and supporting evidence.
 

Experienced in API testing using Postman, basic SQL for data validation, and performance testing concepts using JMeter. Comfortable working closely with developers and stakeholders to clarify requirements, reproduce issues, and verify fixes.
 

Focused on delivering reliable, high-quality solutions through structured testing and clear communication.

Key Responsibilities: 

- Review business requirements (BRDs) and identify testable scenarios

- Design and maintain structured test cases with clear steps and expected results

- Execute test cases and compare actual results against expected outcomes

- Identify, document, and track defects using Jira, including steps to reproduce and supporting evidence

- Assign appropriate priority to defects based on impact and severity

- Retest fixes and perform regression testing to ensure stability of the system

- Perform API testing using Postman to validate responses and status codes

- Work closely with developers and stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues

- Ensure test coverage aligns with business requirements and functional expectations

- Maintain clear and accurate test documentation throughout the testing cycle

Required Skills: 

- Basic knowledge of SQL for data validation and verification

- Understanding of QA processes including requirement analysis, test case design, execution, and defect reporting

- Ability to interpret business requirements (BRDs) and translate them into test scenarios

- Experience in writing clear and structured test cases with defined steps and expected results

- Strong defect identification and reporting skills, including documenting steps to reproduce, expected vs actual results, and supporting evidence

- Hands-on experience with Jira for defect tracking

- Experience in API testing using Postman, including validating responses and status codes

- Good analytical thinking and attention to detail

- Ability to work collaboratively with developers and stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues

- Understanding of SDLC and basic QA best practices

Preferred Qualifications: 

- Familiarity with performance testing concepts, including tools such as JMeter

- Exposure to API testing beyond basic validation (e.g., request chaining, environment variables in Postman)

- Understanding of different testing types such as regression, integration, and user acceptance testing

- Awareness of CI/CD concepts and how testing fits into deployment pipelines

- Experience working in an Agile environment or participating in sprint-based workflows

- Ability to identify gaps or ambiguities in requirements and raise them early

- Interest in improving testing processes and ensuring better test coverage
