The Security Assistant Manager supports the Security Manager in leading the day-to-day security operations of the property. This includes supervising officers, conducting patrols, using security technology systems, and responding to incidents and emergencies. The role plays a critical part in ensuring guest and employee safety, maintaining property standards, and promoting a culture of professionalism and service excellence within the Loss Prevention team.
Key Responsibilities
- Acts as the shift leader and coordinates the daily deployment of Security Officers. Assigns patrol zones and highlights priority risks and concerns for each shift.
- Conducts regular patrols of guest areas, staff entrances, back-of-house zones, and parking areas.
- Observes for suspicious activity, vandalism, violations, or safety hazards and initiates appropriate responses.
- Manages access control for employees, visitors, and contractors, and ensures secure entry to restricted areas.
- Oversees and actively monitors Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), access control systems, and alarm panels.
- Responds to emergencies (e.g., fire, medical, security threats) and coordinates proper response procedures.
- Participates in or leads emergency drills and life safety checks as per schedule.
- Oversees the management of life safety systems and supports regular system checks.
- Conducts key control audits, incident investigations, and interviews when required.
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in a related field
- Valid Security License
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position, preferably in a large-scale hospitality or corporate environment
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Very good command of the English language, both written and spoken
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong customer service orientation with a commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence
