Job Outline
Our Company is expanding and is currently seeking to recruit a Senior HSEQ Compliance Specialist to join our Maritime team in Larnaka.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior HSEQ Compliance Specialist to strengthen our HSEQ and compliance division. The successful candidate will combine practical seagoing experience with technical writing skills, and will be involved in the development, maintenance and improvement of various organisations' Safety Management Systems (SMS) and associated procedures and manuals. This is a key role for someone who understands both the regulatory framework and ship operations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop, write, review and revise SMS manuals, procedures, forms, work instructions and technical plans, ensuring they are clear, fully compliant and in line with the customer's expectations.
- Take ownership of assigned projects and deliver them according to the agreed scope of work and deadlines.
- Liaise with various clients on all matters concerning the assigned projects.
- On an occasional basis, carry out audits and inspections on board vessels, which requires travel.
- Keep abreast of changes in maritime legislation and industry best practice.
Qualifications & Requirements:
·Seagoing experience in an officer-level or management-level capacity (deck or engine), or equivalent practical shipboard experience.
·Proven experience writing and editing maritime procedures, manuals or SMS documentation.
·Strong knowledge of the ISM Code and the wider maritime regulatory framework (SOLAS, MARPOL, MLC, STCW, etc.).
· Good written and spoken English, with the ability to produce clear, concise technical documentation.
·A passionate, self-motivated approach with a genuine interest in maritime safety and continual improvement.
Nice to have:
- Internal Auditor qualification (ISM / ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001).
- Experience with vetting regimes (TMSA, SIRE, DryBMS, RISQ) and incident investigation methodologies.
- Familiarity with document-management systems and digital SMS platforms.
