CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a long-established and highly regarded company operating in the iGaming industry, we are seeking to recruit a Senior Software Engineer to join their growing team based in Limassol. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work closely with the Head of Development, DevOps Engineers, and Senior Developers, and play a key role in shaping system architecture, improving engineering practices, and building scalable, high-performance solutions. Our client is seeking applicants who possess 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with strong experience in system design and architecture. You will need to be highly proficient with core technologies including PHP (Laravel), Vue.js, MySQL, and NoSQL, and be fluent in English. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications and systems using Laravel (PHP) and Vue.js.
• Contribute to and help drive architectural decisions, ensuring scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Work with distributed systems and modern architectures, including queues, Kafka, and event-driven patterns.
• Optimize system performance, reliability, scalability, and overall platform stability.
• Mentor and support developers through technical guidance, code reviews, and design reviews.
• Collaborate closely with development and DevOps teams on infrastructure-related initiatives using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Promote engineering best practices, clean code standards, and continuous improvement across the development lifecycle.

 

Key Skills/Experience: 

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Strong experience in system design and architecture.
• Solid backend development experience with Laravel or similar frameworks.
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Experience with distributed systems and queue-based architectures.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is considered an advantage.
• Strong ownership mindset and excellent problem-solving skills.
• A quick learner who is passionate about technology and takes initiative to self-learn when needed.
• Strong communication skills in both written and spoken English.

 

Must have Tech Stack knowledge: 

• Experience with PHP (Laravel) and Vue.js, MySQL, NoSQL.
• Experience with Kafka and queue systems.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Dockers.
• Strong system-architecture capabilities.
