As we continue to grow and adapt to the all-increasing client and professional environment needs, we are seeking experienced and talented Senior Team Members to join our Tax team. Based in any location in Cyprus, you will be part of a supportive and collaborative environment, where you will have the opportunity to train towards a professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/ADIT), participate and/or lead impactful tax projects, manage a diverse portfolio of clients, and contribute to the continued success of our team.

 

The Opportunity:

• Ensuring work is prepared in accordance with KPMG’s professional standards, and in compliance with the Law and Regulations and in line with the requirements of the ISQM1 quality standard
• Demonstrating a thorough understanding of common principles of direct tax and effectively applying them in the context of direct tax engagements;
• Considering clients’ specific needs and understanding queries in order to develop reliable recommendations and implementation plans
• Making informed decisions in complex and/or judgmental areas;
• Identifying and presenting direct tax opportunities and risks;
• Working as part or as leader of a team, delegating tasks to and reviewing work performed by junior staff as well as cooperating with senior level team members;
• Keeping up to date with all developments in the field of direct taxation;
• Providing on the job training and guidance to the team members
• Reporting directly to the engagement partner or team leader
• Having direct communication and holding discussions on technical issues and clients’ circumstances with the tax office

 

What We’re Looking for: 

• University degree with grade 2:1 or equivalent in any discipline with demonstrated ability to read and understand Financial Statements
• Holder of ADIT or similar professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CPA) would be considered an advantage, but not having one will not be considered as a disadvantage
• Minimum 3 years of tax experience
• Good knowledge of the Cyprus Tax legislation and the principles of International Tax 
• Experience with preparation of all types of tax forms and returns
• Experience in the preparation and presentation of professional reports
• Excellent knowledge of the Greek and English languages (written and spoken)
• IT literacy with sound knowledge of Excel/Word
