Student Counsellor (Licensed Psychologist) (Part-Time or Full-Time Position) – Fall 2026–2027
The American University of Beirut – Mediterraneo (AUB Mediterraneo) invites applications for a part-time or full-time Student Counselor (Licensed Psychologist) position within the Office of Student Affairs, starting Fall 2026–2027.

Role Summary
The Student Counsellor will provide professional psychological counselling, mental health support, and wellbeing services to students as part of the university’s Student Affairs Support Network. The role includes the provision of individual counselling sessions and referral when needed, as well as the promotion of students’ emotional well-being, resilience, adjustment, and personal development within the university environment. The successful candidate will also contribute to the design and implementation of student well-being initiatives, psychoeducational workshops, prevention and awareness activities, and collaborative interventions aimed at fostering an inclusive, supportive, and mentally healthy campus community.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide individual and group counselling to students experiencing emotional, psychological, academic, or adjustment-related difficulties;
· Assess students’ wellbeing needs and provide appropriate support, intervention, referral, and follow-up when required;
· Respond to student well-being concerns in line with professional and ethical standards;
· Support students in developing coping skills, resilience, emotional well-being, and successful adjustment to university life;
· Contribute to wellbeing initiatives, workshops, prevention programs, and mental health awareness activities across campus;
· Collaborate with Student Affairs, faculty, and relevant services to strengthen student support and care pathways;
· Maintain confidential and ethically compliant counselling records and documentation;
· Support peer-led wellbeing initiatives, student engagement activities, and mental health promotion efforts.
Qualifications
· Master’s or Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology;
· Licensed to practice Psychology in Cyprus by the Cyprus Psychologists Registration Council (required);
· Experience in professional psychological counselling or mental health support (ideally with young adults);
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English;
· Ability to work sensitively in a diverse international academic environment.

· Based at AUB Mediterraneo campus in Pafos, Cyprus
· Competitive remuneration based on experience
