Open, progressive and personable, we provide advice on British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Cyprus, Bermuda and to an international client base which includes the world’s top law firms, financial institutions, investment funds and private individuals.We are the only international law firm in Cyprus with a dedicated regulatory law practice, which puts us in a unique position to undertake some of the most high-stakes and complex work on anti-money laundering and terrorist financing compliance, financial services regulation, sanctions, tax, tax information exchange, data protection and other areas.&nbsp;About the roleWhat you'll be doingThe Compliance Analyst will be an integral member of the compliance team and the firm, working closely with the Compliance Manager in Europe and compliance teams of the organization globally to help ensure that the businesses are operating legally; both management and employees are in compliance with the rules and regulations of regulatory agencies, company policies and procedures are being followed and that displayed behaviour in the organisation meets and exceeds the firm standards of conduct and risk management. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that our organization complies with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices. This role involves conducting client due diligence (CDD), screening, onboarding, and ongoing review of customer and other documentation.&nbsp;The Compliance Analyst will have a supportive and/or supervisory function and is integral to ensuring that procedures and protocols are followed reporting to the Compliance Manager to ensure that all client information is accurate and updated our database, full transparency of high risk relationships to senior management and the implementation of the compliance monitoring programme is effective to help mitigate against risks faced by the organization.&nbsp;The role will also involve ensuring that management and employees are in compliance with the rules and regulations of regulatory agencies, company policies and procedures, and that behaviour in the organisation meets the minimum firm standards of conduct and risk management.&nbsp;The Compliance Analyst will get involved in a range of administrative, filing, screening and due diligence tasks to ensure accurate records of all relevant client entities is maintained.&nbsp;Key ResponsibilitiesClient Screening, Due Diligence &amp; Onboarding<ul><li>Conduct initial and ongoing screening of clients, partners, and vendors using internal tools and external databases to identify PEPs, sanctions, and adverse media.</li><li>Draft high-risk and PEP client submissions for escalation to the Compliance Officer and Risk Committee, ensuring enhanced due diligence (EDD) procedures are followed.</li><li>Perform customer due diligence (CDD), including document collection, verification, and assessment in accordance with AML and KYC requirements.</li><li>Review and assess legal and corporate documentation (e.g., company registration, ID, UBO structures) for completeness and accuracy.</li><li>Perform CDD file reviews and monitor the completion and quality of onboarding files, escalating concerns where necessary.</li><li>Prepare and submit suspicious transaction reports (STRs) to external authorities if required.</li></ul>Compliance Operations &amp; Task Coordination<ul><li>Assist Compliance Manager and Assistant Compliance Manager in the day-to-day administration of the compliance function.</li><li>Monitor, manage, and delegate tasks to the Compliance team by effectively allocating resources and managing workload, including during staff absences.</li><li>Maintain and update internal tracking systems (e.g., email monitoring, compliance request logs) and coordinate team responses.</li><li>Create and maintain a comprehensive team action tracker to monitor progress of all ongoing and upcoming compliance tasks and projects.</li><li>Report regularly to the Compliance Manager on team workload and progress through dashboards and reports.</li></ul>Process Oversight &amp; Documentation<ul><li>Ensure the compliance database is accurately updated by both the analyst and the broader team.</li><li>Run integrity control reports to validate and clean up compliance data (e.g., UBO information, name fields, gender).</li><li>Assist with the design, implementation, and maintenance of administrative and compliance-related processes and systems.</li></ul>Training, Communication &amp; Liaison<ul><li>Deliver ad hoc training sessions, including induction, “lunch &amp; learn,” and topic-specific workshops.</li><li>Liaise with internal teams and external parties on general compliance matters and act as a point of contact for cross-functional compliance issues.</li><li>Facilitate communication and collaboration between global business units and team members on compliance topics.</li><li>Participate in the conflict check process and escalate where necessary.</li></ul>Additional Responsibilities<ul><li>Stay informed about emerging compliance regulations and assist in updating policies and procedures accordingly.</li><li>Carry out other compliance-related duties as assigned by senior management.</li></ul>Required qualificationsTo be considered for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in business administration, law, finance, compliance, corporate governance or relevant field</li><li>Professional Qualifications will be considered an advantage.</li><li>Minimum of two (2) years in similar roles, experience in the offshore legal industry will be an advantage.</li><li>Working knowledge and understanding of sanctions regimes, PEPs and other high risk categories; understanding of complex structures and SPVs</li><li>Highly computer literate – proficient in using Microsoft, Excel and PowerPoint; candidates with knowledge and experience using Intapp and Service Now will be highly advantaged. This also applies to experience in using other Screening tools such as LexisNexis and Riskscreen</li><li>Experience with management, Board and regulatory reporting is required</li><li>A fundamental understanding of AML/CFT rules and excellent AML/CFT Training skills</li><li>Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and organizational skills</li><li>Self-motivated and able to work without close supervision</li><li>Effective communicator, excellent interpersonal and people management skills</li><li>Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and prioritise multiple tasks</li></ul>&nbsp;
