This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in the hospitality industry and a strong understanding of HR operations in Cyprus, particularly in managing the employment of third-country nationals. This individual will also play a key role in recruitment, culture development, and employee training, supporting our mission to create an engaged, high-performing team across all Umami locations.&nbsp;Responsibilities<ul><li>HR Operations &amp; Compliance<ul><li>Serve as the primary HR contact for all Umami restaurant teams, ensuring consistent implementation of HR policies and procedures.</li><li>Manage all aspects related to the employment of third-country nationals, including visa/work permit applications, renewals, and coordination with immigration and labor authorities</li><li>Ensure full compliance with Cyprus labor and immigration legislation.</li><li>Maintain accurate and updated employee files, contracts, and HR documentation.</li><li>Oversee general HR documentation and ensure confidentiality and compliance are upheld at all times.</li></ul></li><li>Talent Acquisition &amp; Onboarding<ul><li>Oversee the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, interviews, and hiring decisions.</li><li>Coordinate a structured and engaging onboarding experience that reflects Umami’s culture and values.</li><li>Ensure all recruitment and onboarding processes are legally compliant and aligned with internal standards.</li></ul></li><li>Culture &amp; Employee Engagement<ul><li>Support employee well-being through counseling and conflict resolution, providing guidance and facilitating mediation to resolve workplace disputes and promote a positive organizational culture.</li><li>Plan and execute engagement initiatives, team-building activities, and staff recognition programs.</li><li>Monitor employee sentiment through surveys and feedback tools, providing actionable insights and recommendations.</li><li>Collaborate with leadership to drive initiatives that support retention, satisfaction, and a cohesive team environment.</li></ul></li><li>Training &amp; Development<ul><li>Design and implement training programs that reinforce service excellence, brand tone, and operational standards.</li><li>Evaluate training effectiveness and team performance through regular assessments, feedback loops, and mystery dinner reports.</li></ul></li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.</li><li>Minimum 2 years of experience in HR within the hospitality industry (restaurant or hotel sector preferred).</li><li>Proven experience in handling third-country national (TCN) employee processes in Cyprus is essential.</li><li>Strong knowledge of Cyprus labor law and immigration procedures.</li><li>Store visits to all Umami Sushi &amp; Pan Asian Restaurants across Cyprus.</li><li>Fluent in Greek and English (spoken and written); other languages are a plus.</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills, cultural awareness, and hands-on approach.</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills with a calm and professional approach to conflict resolution.</li><li>Excellent organizational and time management skills.</li></ul>What We Offer<ul><li>Competitive salary based on experience</li><li>Dynamic and multicultural work environment</li><li>Birthday leave and wellness perks</li><li>Opportunities for professional development</li><li>A chance to shape the employee experience of a growing restaurant brand</li></ul>&nbsp;We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
