The Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute (CMMI) is a Centre of Excellence for marine and maritime research, innovation and technology development and has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme and matching funding from the Government of the Republic of Cyprus. The CMMI pulls together expertise from local universities, industry and international partners.
Role Summary
Leads the Head of Education & Training Unit (ETU), designing and implementing capacity-building initiatives aligned with CMMI’s research, innovation, and human capital development strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, manage, and enhance curricula, vocational training programmes, professional certifications, internships, apprenticeships, and fellowship schemes across maritime innovation fields.
Introduce modern learning approaches such as blended learning, e-learning modules, and micro-credentials.
Establish and monitor quality assurance frameworks, assessment methods, and learning outcomes.
Promote talent development pathways that support the Blue Economy workforce in Cyprus and internationally.
Collaborate with Research Directors to transform research outputs into training content and knowledge transfer modules.
Facilitate researcher involvement in teaching and mentoring activities.
Develop educational collaborations with universities, maritime academies, training centres, industry partners, and EU networks.
Promote CMMI training offerings locally and internationally.
Organise workshops, bootcamps, summer schools, and professional courses to enhance visibility and participation.
Track programme performance and impact through KPIs and learner feedback.
Coordinate subject matter experts, instructors, and training partners.
Ensure operational excellence, budget management, and timely programme delivery.
Requirements
PhD or Master’s degree in Education, Training Management, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 7–10 years’ experience in educational programme design, management, or leadership.
Proven track record in developing and delivering training programmes in academic, research, or industry contexts.
Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
