We are looking for a Mobile Core Network Engineer to support, operate, and evolve our 4G LTE and 5G NSA mobile core network in a live operator environment. This role is ideal for engineers who want hands-on exposure to packet core operations, troubleshooting, and network evolution projects within a real operator-scale network.&nbsp;Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Operate, support, maintain, and contribute to the ongoing development of the mobile core network, with primary focus on LTE EPC and 5G NSA architectures</li><li>Exposure to fixed or voice-related core platforms is considered an advantage</li><li>Provide hands-on support for packet core and subscriber platforms, including:<ul><li>Subscriber data systems (HLR/HSS)</li><li>Packet core elements supporting LTE and 5G NSA (GGSN / SGW / PGW and related interfaces)</li><li>Signalling and interconnection platforms (SMSC, STP, DRA)</li></ul></li><li>Experience with IMS, SBC, TAS, or VoLTE environments is considered an advantage</li><li>Investigate and resolve second-line technical issues related to network configuration, performance, or service behaviour, working beyond first-line support</li><li>Monitor and analyse network mobility, signalling, and performance KPIs, identify trends or degradations, and support root-cause analysis for mobile services</li><li>Familiarity with voice or VoLTE KPIs is considered an advantage</li><li>Work closely with OSS/BSS and IT teams to support:<ul><li>Service provisioning and activation</li><li>Charging and rating flows</li><li>Service assurance for mobile data services</li><li>Understanding of voice service integration with OSS/BSS is considered an advantage</li></ul></li><li>Participate in core network evolution and improvement projects, including:<ul><li>LTE feature enhancements</li><li>Introduction and expansion of 5G NSA capabilities</li><li>Capacity expansions, upgrades, and vendor-led initiatives</li><li>Involvement in IMS or voice-related projects is considered an advantage</li></ul></li><li>Support mobile services, including execution and validation of service orders requiring core network involvement</li><li>Exposure to enterprise voice or converged services is considered an advantage</li><li>Coordinate with external operators and vendors for troubleshooting roaming, interconnection, signalling, or service-related issues</li><li>Participate in a rotational on-call (standby) schedule, providing timely response to incidents outside normal working hours</li><li>Perform other related technical duties as required to ensure the reliable operation and evolution of the mobile core network</li></ul>Technologies You’ll Work With<ul><li>LTE EPC and 5G NSA core platforms</li><li>Subscriber data systems (HLR / HSS)</li><li>Packet core elements (GGSN / SGW / PGW)</li><li>Signalling and interconnection platforms (SMSC, STP, DRA)</li><li>OSS / BSS integrations</li><li>Exposure to IMS / VoLTE is considered an advantage</li></ul>Qualifications &amp; Experience<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)</li><li>2–5 years of experience in mobile core, packet core, or telecom network operations</li><li>Hands-on experience with LTE EPC environments in a live operator network</li><li>Working knowledge of subscriber platforms (HLR/HSS) and packet core elements (GGSN, SGW, PGW)</li><li>Understanding of mobility, signalling, and packet core KPIs</li><li>Experience working with vendors and cross-functional technical teams</li><li>Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues in a structured and methodical way</li><li>Willingness to participate in a rotational on-call (standby)</li></ul>Remuneration and Benefits:<ul><li>Competitive salary package, including a 13th salary</li><li>Performance-based Bonus</li><li>21 to 25 days of annual leave</li><li>Free Medical Insurance</li><li>Provident Fund</li><li>Complimentary telecom services</li><li>Hybrid work options to support flexibility and work-life balance</li><li>Sponsorship for industry-relevant certifications to support career growth</li><li>Training and Development through online platforms and on-the-job training</li></ul>Should you be interested in this vacancy, please visit Cablenet’s website at <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://cablenet.com.cy/jobs/">Jobs Archive - Cablenet</a> and submit your CV by February 22nd, 2026.
