As a forward-looking healthcare company, we care about our employees, helping them stay safe, healthy, and productive.&nbsp;&nbsp;We seek to recruit a junior Backend Developer to join our Bioinformatics team and help build and maintain the backend systems that support biological and genomic data analysis. This is a great opportunity for an early-career developer who wants to grow their backend skills while working on meaningful problems in life sciences.&nbsp;The successful candidate will work in an interdisciplinary environment and will help in data analysis, workflow automation, and the development and implementation of suitable models in the field of diagnostics.&nbsp;Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Assist in developing and maintaining backend services and APIs</li><li>Support data pipelines that process biological and genomic data</li><li>Work with databases to store, retrieve, and manage scientific data</li><li>Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code</li><li>Learn best practices through code reviews, mentorship, and collaboration</li><li>Help troubleshoot and fix bugs in existing systems</li><li>Contribute to the verification/validation of the test procedures</li><li>Ensure compliance with accreditation requirements</li></ul>&nbsp;Your Profile:<ul><li>University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Mathematics, Statistics, Machine Learning, or closely related field</li><li>Basic experience with backend development (internships, projects, or coursework welcome)</li><li>Familiarity with at least one backend language (e.g., Python, Java, or similar)</li><li>Willingness to learn cloud technologies and modern development tools</li><li>Curiosity, problem-solving mindset, and attention to detail</li><li>Good communication skills and eagerness to work in a team environment</li><li>Fluent in Greek and English</li></ul>&nbsp;The following will be considered as advantage:<ul><li>Exposure to bioinformatics, biology, or life sciences</li><li>Experience with Git and version control</li><li>Familiarity with Linux environments</li><li>Any experience working with data-heavy applications</li><li>Experience in molecular biology and genetics</li><li>Experience with next generation sequencing data analysis</li><li>Familiar with High Performance Computing</li><li>Experience in parallel programming</li><li>Experience with relational databases (e.g. MySQL)</li></ul>&nbsp;What we offer:<ul><li>Competitive remuneration package based on qualifications &amp; experience, including 13th salary</li><li>One afternoon off per week</li><li>Provident Fund</li><li>Increased vacation days according to years of employment (21 – 25 days)</li><li>Paid sick days</li><li>Hybrid working after the completion of the probation period</li><li>Interesting and dynamic job in a growing, entrepreneurial work environment within an international team</li><li>A friendly and respectful departmental and working atmosphere, as well as an open communication culture and team events</li><li>Unique career development and advancement opportunities withing a global organization</li></ul>&nbsp;Do you want to make a difference, shape the future and to work for a growing, innovative diagnostic services company, with a purpose?
