The Role
We are seeking a high-calibre Senior Accountant to join our team.
This is a hands-on role suited to professionals who are technically strong, detail-oriented, and capable of taking ownership of accounting engagements from start to finish.
The role involves the preparation and review of financial records, management accounts, VAT and tax compliance, as well as supporting audit engagements and liaising directly with clients across a range of industries and structures.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
Assist in the maintenance of the general ledger in compliance with IFRS and company policies and procedures.
Support bank, debtors, and creditors reconciliations.
Ensure timely and accurate recording of accounting transactions.
Assist in the preparation of VAT returns, VIES, and OSS returns.
Support in the preparation of monthly payroll for clients and payment of Social Insurance contributions.
Aid in the preparation and submission of the employer’s tax return (IR7).
Collaborate with the team to plan, assign, and review work.
Communicate with clients to resolve queries and provide accounting support.
Assist with the end-of-year audit preparation.
Work with various companies across multiple sectors.
Evaluate and recommend workflow process improvements to enhance efficiency.
Support the development, retention, and motivation of junior staff.
Key Skills/Experience:
At least 4-5 years of experience in a general practice accounting role, preferably ACCA/ACA Qualified or at the final stages of studies.
Fluency in Greek and English, both written and oral, is essential.
Working knowledge of E-Soft accounting software and PremierSoft payroll software is advantageous.
Experience in financial services and blockchain will be an additional advantage.
