CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an established residential property development company with over 30 years of history here in Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit a Senior Accountant to join their growing team based in Larnaca. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing accurate financial reporting. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, and holders of, or those working towards any professional accounting qualification are encouraged to apply. You will need to possess approximately 5+ years of experience in accounting, with strong knowledge of VAT regulations and payroll administration. Experience working with accounting software is a must, along with sound knowledge of MS Office applications, including Excel. An attractive remuneration package is on offer based on skills and experience, and working hours are from 08:00 – 16:00 from Monday to Friday with some flexibility.

 

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Maintain and oversee the company’s accounting records and financial transactions.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly management reports.
• Prepare and submit various tax returns (i.e IR7, IR614, IR1)
• Handle VAT calculations, submissions, and compliance requirements.
• Manage payroll processing and related statutory obligations.
• Perform bank reconciliations, supplier reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses.
• Generate and present detailed reports using Microsoft Excel.
• Assist with audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Monitor cash flow and support financial decision-making.

 

Key Skills/Experience: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or semi qualified ACCA or LCCI Higher.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting and bookkeeping.
• Strong knowledge of VAT regulations and payroll administration.
• Proficiency in accounting software, preferably Cycom Sophia.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas and reporting tools.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
