Accounting Manager

On behalf of our client, a reputable and well-established architectural and design firm based in Larnaca, we are seeking to recruit an experienced Accounting Manager to lead and oversee the company's accounting function.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced accounting professional who is looking to join a creative, well-structured, and growing organization while taking ownership of its financial operations and supporting management with accurate financial reporting and sound accounting practices.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company's accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, overseeing daily accounting activities, and maintaining compliance with Cyprus accounting and tax legislation. The role requires excellent organizational and leadership skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with management, external accountants, clients, suppliers, and business partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of the company.
• Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and maintained within the accounting system.
• Review and approve bookkeeping entries, reconciliations, and accounting records.
• Prepare management reports and support the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
• Monitor cash flow and oversee payment processing and supplier settlements.
• Review and reconcile customer and supplier accounts.
• Ensure the timely preparation and submission of VAT returns and other statutory obligations.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Liaise with external auditors, accountants, banks, and government authorities.
• Communicate with clients regarding invoicing, collections, and outstanding balances where required.
• Work closely with management to provide financial information and support business decision-making.
• Review and improve accounting procedures and internal financial controls.
• Ensure compliance with Cyprus accounting standards and tax legislation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• ACCA or ACA qualification, or partly qualified, will be considered an advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including experience in a senior or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, Cyprus VAT, and local tax legislation.
• Previous experience managing the accounting function of a company will be considered an advantage.
• Excellent command of Greek and English, both written and spoken.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and accounting software.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities with a proactive and hands-on approach.
