Job Description

We’re on the hunt for an accountant who’s genuinely curious, likes a challenge, and doesn’t mind wearing a few hats.  You’ll sit with a small, friendly team and help keep the finances ticking across several operating businesses, a handful of holding companies, and a couple of regulated entities - everything from invoicing and payments to bank deposits and reconciliations. 

 

Day to day, that means bookkeeping, invoicing, banking, reconciling bank statements, sorting out VAT, and lending a hand at audit time.  You’ll get to know each business - its customers, its suppliers, its little quirks - and build friendly relationships along the way.  And you’ll keep management in the loop with clear, accurate numbers, while helping us stay on the right side of the taxman and the regulators.   

 

Mostly, we just want someone eager to learn with a sharp eye for detail.  A year or two of bookkeeping or accounting experience is a bonus - but if you’re keen and quick, don’t let that stop you.   

 

The Responsibilities 

• Maintain day-to-day bookkeeping across the operating businesses, holding companies, and funds 

• Prepare and process customer and supplier invoices 

• Manage banking, including payments, deposits, and bank reconciliations 

• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable 

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closings 

• Support internal and external audit processes 

• Assist with VAT calculations, payments and returns 

• Comply with financial policies and regulations 

 

The Requirements 

• Good knowledge of accounting principles and procedures 

• Familiarity with general ledger functions 

• Good MS Excel skills  

• 1–2 years’ experience in bookkeeping or accounting (e.g. with Odoo, e-soft, Onesoft, Xero, and QuickBooks) would be an advantage 

• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills 

• BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree is a plus 

• Working towards a professional qualification (ACCA or ACA) is a plus

• Good written and spoken Greek and English
