Finance Operations Accountant
Job Description
Our client is an International Investment and Operating Group focused on building and scaling businesses across the healthcare, technology and financial services sectors. As part of its continued growth, the company is seeking a Finance Operations Accountant to support its finance operations at its offices in Larnaca.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the finance function, ensuring accurate financial records, effective operational controls and timely financial reporting.
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including invoices, journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Assist with management reporting, audits and financial compliance.
Finance Operations & Payments
- Manage supplier onboarding, purchase orders and accounts payable processes.
- Prepare supplier and bank payments in line with company policies and controls.
- Monitor outstanding balances and assist in resolving accounting discrepancies.
Project & Business Support
- Support project accounting, cost allocations and financial tracking.
- Assist with project profitability analysis and financial reporting.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and the enhancement of financial controls.
Intercompany, Tax & Compliance
- Support intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
- Assist with VAT, audit and statutory reporting requirements.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and external advisers to ensure compliance and reporting accuracy.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience, in an Accounting and/or Finance role.
- Good understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, accruals and prepayments.
- Experience with accounts payable, supplier payments and bank reconciliations.
- Very good Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Very good communication skills in English.
Considered an Advantage
- Experience in a multi-entity and/or project-based environment.
- Experience with intercompany accounting and VAT compliance.
- Knowledge of IFRS.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or a similar ERP system.
- Experience supporting audits and statutory reporting.
- Familiarity with AI tools and process improvement initiatives.
- Experience within healthcare, technology, telecommunications, consulting or financial services sectors.
- Knowledge of Portuguese.

Working Hours
Monday - Friday: 09:00 - 18:00 (including a one-hour lunch break)
Note: Employees generally benefit from an earlier finish on Fridays, subject to workload and operational requirements.
