Job Description

Meridian Gaming (CY) Ltd is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Finance Department in Limassol.The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with IFRS standards and Cyprus regulations, and supporting management through timely financial reporting and analysis.Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily bookkeeping and accounting entries in accordance with IFRS standards.
• Record and reconcile bank statements, payment service providers (PSPs), merchant accounts, and e-wallet transactions.
• Process and post supplier invoices, credit notes, payments, and general ledger transactions.
• Prepare and reconcile gaming revenue, customer deposits, withdrawals, and bonuses
• Perform reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including banks, receivables, payables, PSPs, and intercompany accounts.
• Prepare monthly management reports, financial analyses, and operational reports.
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Calculate payroll and post payroll-related accounting entries.
• Prepare payroll reconciliations and support submissions relating to Social Insurance, GESY, and PAYE obligations.
• Post payroll-related accounting entries.
• Process VAT transactions related to non-resident services and support VAT reporting requirements.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring.
• Monitor and reconcile company income streams and ensure proper revenue recognition.
• Support internal and external audit processes by preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
• Assist in regulatory reporting and compliance requirements applicable to the betting and gaming industry.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS standards.
• Experience with full-cycle accounting and month-end closing procedures.
• Good understanding of payroll calculations and payroll accounting.
• Knowledge of Cyprus tax regulations, including VAT treatment of cross-border and non-resident services.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and organisational skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Fluency in both Greek and English is mandatory (written and spoken).
• Previous experience in the betting, gaming, fintech, payments, or financial services sector will be considered an advantage.

Considered an Advantage

• ACCA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification (completed or in progress).
• Experience with PSP reconciliations and gaming revenue accounting.
• Experience working within a regulated industry.
• Experience dealing with external auditors and regulatory authorities.
• Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements applicable to licensed betting operators.
